I bought this because I wanted an all-in-one machine (Handset, speaker phone and message machine) but had limited funds. The speaker phone is built into the handset itself which is pretty handy because you can use it hands-free in a different room - the other day I carried on a conversation while I was working on a project back in the bedroom. The clarity of the speaker phone and handset is not perfectly crystal clear but it's decent. That's the four stars.

The message machine is quite clear in sound and is very easy to operate. The entire unit is very compact and attractive and has a well-made feel to it. I think for the money this is a great deal and I consider the money well spent. If you are on a tight budget but want a well-made system that overall functions quite well I would definitely recommend this one.

I bought this phone for my home office and the very occasional static does become annoying during business calls, but otherwise it's a decent phone for the price. It's compatible with most headphone mics for hands-free calling, the digital answering machine function works well, the caller I.D. function identifies caller after the first ring and allows me to screen my calls, and the memory function remembers the last several calls. If you're looking for crystal-clear sound, however, you're not going to get it with this phone.

I have had VTech and GE phones before but I found the clarity of voice on this the best. The handset is pretty light compared to the GE phone and pleasant in looks.

Pros -
- Headset jack on handset: I found this feature very useful for long conference calls so that I do not have to keep holding the handset in one hand while working on my laptop for a web meeting call.

- Speaker phone on handset: Again - good for long meeting calls but with this you can share your communication with other in the room. So this is good for family calls too.

- Low price, high value: I found the price on Amazon very good - at $27 with free shipping was even better than getting one from Walmart.

The phone and answering machine work well....until they don't. We do not know if it is because the phone sat on a shelf at Amazon for a few years before we received it or what, but the battery seems to have a 20-minute lifespan, not the 6-hours the manual claims it does/should. After 20 minutes of use we cannot hear those we're speaking to and they can't hear us. Recharging fixes the problem, but only for another 20 minutes. We should not be having to buy a new battery for a 2-month old phone, and thus we cannot recommend this product even though all other features seem to work well.

We recently had to replace our phone/answering system. After doing extensive research on numerous brands, we ordered the Uniden EXAI8580 digital cordless. Initially, we were attracted by brand reputation and the price offered through Amazon. Simply put, this phone for the price is a superior value. It has excellent voice quality, performs every necessary function in an efficient manner, and is very easy to use. We can't imagine a better phone for less than $30, and Amazon is always great to work with.

I bought this phone for my office to work with my new VOIP service. The phone does its job well. The sound is good and the volume can be set quite high. It would be nice to have a speaker phone in the base but I knew that wasn't a feature when I bought it.

The newer Dect phones have some nicer features but for the price this is a great phone.

Can you believe that this phone costs under $30.00! This is truly a great investment at a great price! You would expect to find this phone for twice the price! The speakerphone is truly LOUD! The ringer can be heard from 2 rooms away! The speed dial is a snap and the message center is easy to navigate! You will really enjoy this phone!

I received the first unit, plugged it in and let it charge up for 24 hours. I tried to use the phone but it kept hanging up automatically after about a minute of use.

The seller sent a replacement battery, but this made no difference. The answering machine worked fine.

I then got a replacement sent to me. This replacement worked better than the first one, but still hung up on me, after about 15 minutes of using the phone. I tried calling land lines to eliminate possible cell phone dropping, but the same thing happened on the next three calls to different land line phones.

Now I have two defective phone/answering machines..

I got an RMA to return the units, but I am done trying to make this work.. Also I do not see any shipping label, so it looks like the seller wants me to pay to ship things back that never worked in the first place...

Needless to say, I am unhappy with my purchase so far. I would not recommend this unit to anyone else, at any price.

I bought this phone and found that after two weeks, I couldn't make/receive any calls with this phone. The light flashes and it shows connecting and then says "Unavailable". I have made sure telephone jack line is connected. The phone rings but cannot accept calls and cannot make calls.

If anybody faces a similar problem, please let me know anything I can do before I return it back.

For some reason this phone shuts off after 55 seconds. The battery has a full charge.
