Uniden's EXP3240 is a bare-boned, although high-quality phone with a very affordable price-tag. By utilizing the 2.4 GHz frequency and 20 channels of autoscan, the EXP3240 offers clear, intelligible reception even at a distance. An autotalk setting lets users answer the phone simply by picking it up off the base, while 10 speed-dial presets provide easy access to the most frequently called numbers. The redial function stores up to 24 digits and adds a timed pause in the dialing sequence for those numbers where chain dialing is necessary.

If you subscribe to call waiting service through your local telephone company, you can easily answer a second incoming call simply by pressing the flash button. The Ni-CD battery provides up to 7 hours of talk time, and up to 14 days of standby, while a low-battery indicator on the handset lets users know when they need to re-charge. A page button on the base makes locating lost handsets quick and painless, while a handset volume control lets users adjust the volume level to their liking. The EXP3240 also comes backed with a one year parts and labor warranty.

Excellent sound quality--clear as a bell. The range is impressive--it works perfectly indoors, and pretty well outside too (thru brick walls). And the photo doesn't do it justice--it's attractive and has a very small footprint. Both the base unit and the phone sit in a sort of upright position, so it takes up very little space on the counter. The color, pearl white, is actually a nice soft white. I've had many cordless phones; in fact, this one is replacing an older uniden phone--it's cheaper to buy the new one than to replace the battery on the old one.

I ordered this as a second cordless. We already had a Uniden and it's great so I thought I'd check this one out, especially with such a great price for a 2.4. I've had Sony, Panasonic and any other expensive brands you could name and in my experience, phones are one thing you DON'T get what you pay for. My cheaper name phones (i.e. Uniden) have always proven to be perfectly usable with great features where some of the others have been troublesome. Anyway, this is stylish and has lots of bang for the buck.
PLEASE NOTE: We thought we were charging the phone for the initial 20 hour period only to find we didn't have the battery plugged in all the way. Apparently, you have to be sure you hear a CLICK to know it's engaged.

This phone is great! the sound quality is definitely in the top 10( none of that background noise or voice echo). It may not have many features but what it does have is pretty good. Plus- the more features you have on your phone the more things that could go wrong. Simpler is better and for this price and quality you can't go wrong. Also the styling is very high tech. I am very pleased with this phone. It's like getting a Mercedes for the price of a Kia.
