SRS (phila, pa United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Uniden Neo Cordless Headset Phone - TRUC46 (Office Product)
I pretty much have to agree with all that has been said previously. It's easy to use, compact and provides tremendous range. I bought this phone as a result of the reviews I read here and would like to thank all those who took the time to explain its benefits. I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

Rather than repeat all that has been said previously I'd like to share an experience I had today while using it. I work from home, but live about 150-175 yards from my office. I needed to walk down their today and decided to keep the phone with me to check its range. To my surpise, it rang while I was inside AND I was able to answer! The clarity was very good as I stood near the entry door and did not start to break-up until I went further inside. That's pretty darn good. Especially if you consider my regular 2.4ghz Sony breaks apart soon after I pass my front door.

Buy this phone if you are looking for a cordless headset that will give you range and clarity in an easy to use small package.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone for home office, January 23, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Uniden Neo Cordless Headset Phone - TRUC46 (Office Product)
I am a full-time telecommuter working out of my home office. I used to use the Plantronics CT-10 headset phone (similar to this, but 900 mhz), but after we moved to our new house, the Plantronics phone started picking up a radio station in the background if I used it in my office (extremely annoying). After some research, I found this problem might be fixed by upgrading to a 2.4 ghz phone. I was totally spoiled by all the features of the Plantronics CT-10 phone, though, and had a hard time finding something comparable in a 2.4 ghz. I searched all the electronics/office stores, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I wanted a very small unit that I could slip in my pocket or clip to my waistband w/a headset, very good sound quality, mute button, and caller-id. Seems simple enough, but I couldn't find anything that met the criteria until I searched and found this Uniden phone on Amazon.com. After waiting over a month because it was backordered, it finally arrived and I love it. It is even smaller and lighter than my old plantronics phone. I did not like the headsets that came w/it, but just plugged my old plantronics headset into it and it works perfectly. A great buy, also! Highly recommended!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than I thought, better than I'd hoped, February 10, 2003
This review is from: Uniden Neo Cordless Headset Phone - TRUC46 (Office Product)
The most striking thing about this phone is its size! While researching on the net I couldn't find any reference to its dimensions, even on Uniden's website. It is literally the size of a credit card and 1/2" thick. It's smaller than any cell phone I've seen, and fits easily in any pocket (it also comes with a belt clip).
Performance is first rate (which I have come to expect from Uniden) although the headsets that come with it could be better (they're a bit muffled). I use a headset I bought previously to use with my cell and it works great. It has every function I could want including redial of the last three numbers called (haven't seen that before).
Range is not quite as good as the full sized, Spread spectrum 900 Mhz Uniden I had been using (i.e. it's quite good but not phenomenal) but I believe that's a function of the 2.4 Mhz technology. I have had no problems with interference even though I am 4 miles across a body of water from a navigation radar that has interfered with other wireless devices.
Minor negatives: the mute button must be pressed for a second to kick in; that makes it less effective as a cough button, which is what I use it for. And all the buttons require a firm press, which because of the tiny size makes dialing a bit tedious, but keeps you from accidently pressing a nearby button or from its being activated by getting squeezed in a pocket.
All in all, I'm very impressed with this phone, especially in light of the very reasonable price.
