Part of Uniden's Professional Series, the PC78XL CB operates on any of the 40 AM frequencies authorized by the FCC, with adjustable squelch and gain controls to enhance performance. Its signal meter, antenna warning, and several LED indicators let you monitor activity at a glance. The front-positioned microphone has an extra long, coiled cord for convenient use. This unit also offers instant channel 9 access and soft wave radio (SWR) calibration.

Full 40 Channel Operation With Delta Tuning
The PC78XL operates on any of the 40 AM frequencies authorized by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), giving you plenty of communication options. The "Delta Tune" feature gives you a more sensitive fine-tuning control, great for getting a more readable signal or dodging the bleed from a high-level signal on an adjacent channel.
Instant Channel 9
This radio also offers instant access to channel 9 should an emergency arise.
Dynamic Squelch Control
Uniden's dynamic squelch control delivers a clear signal with less noise so that all your channels sound crisp and legible. The squelch control even reduces noise when the CB user on the other end doesn't have it, an advantage that few other squelch enhancers enjoy.
RF/Mic Gain Controls
Boost reception in strong signal areas with the RF gain control, and use the mic gain to adjust microphone sensitivity to your speaking level. The front-positioned microphone is easy to access, with an extra-long coiled cord.
Additional Features
The PC78XL also boasts a PA/CB switch, channel indicator, and comprehensive monitoring/calibration with an analog S/RF/SWR/Mod meter. The unit measures 7.28 by 8.89 by 2.20 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 4 pounds 3 ounces, is backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

I had this radio in my car and worked great. It is a Clear talker ... but remeber , to recieve and transmit well you must have a good antenna. A good radio is useless without a good antenna.
