3.0 out of 5 stars Close, but no cigar, September 28, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Uniden TRU-4465-2 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Caller ID, Speakerphone, and Additional Handset (Office Product)
After trying out many different cordless phones, I thought this would be the winner. I tried out the single-phone version and it seemed very clear, so I went back for the double-phone version (TRU4465-2). Still seemed very clear on our end, BUT we got several comments about how we sounded to people on the other end. My wife said that when I was farther away from the base station antenna, I sounded like I was in a tunnel, but it got better as I got closer to the antenna.

I really like the feel, the ringers, the display, and the price of this phone, but I think our condo has too much electrical interference to allow a lower-priced cordless phone like this one to work well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased, Thusfar!, March 6, 2003
This review is from: Uniden TRU-4465-2 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Caller ID, Speakerphone, and Additional Handset (Office Product)
I purchased this phone in September 2002 and it does everything I wanted it to do. It provides great clarity and is very user friendly. In addition, the speakerphone works well (once I learned to operate it properly).

I do have one design suggestion, however. The "END" button is disproportionally small and is oddly located.

Notwithstanding this design flaw, I have been very pleased with this purchase and I will definitely consider Uniden phones in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to read this review and I hope you have as positive of an experience as I have had, if you decide to purchase it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, July 21, 2003

This review is from: Uniden TRU-4465-2 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Caller ID, Speakerphone, and Additional Handset (Office Product)
I tried the Uniden TRU 4465-2 and was pretty well pleased with its performance. The only problem I encountered was the discomfort of the handset on my ear -something about its shape is very uncomfortable even though the handset itself is very ergonomic. So I took it back and decided to try a Panasonic 2235. Wrong move, totally. The Panasonic 2235 was the pits! Maybe it would work with no electronic appliances in a house -all I know is it had no range (Gigarange, my rump), cut-out constantly, static galore in my home & the 'Voice Enhancer' feature was worthless. So, uncomfortable or not, I'm going back to get another Uniden TRU 4465-2. At least it works properly and suits my needs; if this is an example of DSS technology then I'm impressed. Maybe I can cover the earpiece with foam.
