Some of us need much more from our phones than just a little redial button. Sometimes a flash feature simply isn't enough. For users who demand extensive features, Uniden's TRU5885A delivers. Functioning at a quiet, nearly interference-free 5.8 GHz, the phone uses digital transmission for exceptional range and minimal static. The three-line handset LCD works in conjunction with caller ID services, storing 100 names and numbers in addition to the speed-dial presets.
The dual speakerphones (both on the handset and base) let you talk hands-free or get the whole family in on the conversation. The phone also features an integrated digital answering machine with all the features you'd expect, like remote message check. And yes, the phone does feature the basics, like flash, pause, hold, and redial with memory storage of the last three numbers dialed. In addition, you can dial either from the handset or from the base. The phone is expandable to accommodate additional handsets and chargers. An NiMH battery and 90-day warranty are included.

Good phone has many features that a cell phone has, variable ring tones, phonebook, and you can also listen to messages from the handset. Keypad has a nice feel and the speakerphone works just fine from a distance. As you have read before it is a must if you use 8011.b wireless your computer. I want to clear up some roomers.1.) "5.8Ghz needs 10 times the battery power to get the same range as a 900Mhz." This may be true but from experience the batteries in this phone last twice as long as a new batteries in my 2.4 or 900mhz phones in the past (this is probably true due to the fact the battery is larger). One thing I like is the phone uses NIMH batteries, which you can't screw up by recharging all the time during half charge. True, NIMH batteries are not the best flashlight batteries but who doesn't use a phone everyday. 2.) "5.8Ghz radio waves are absorbed in walls and surroundings much more than 900Mhz and 2.4Ghz. This means wall penetration in a home is poor." Who cares, trust me I walked half a block away and could still dial in and hear conversation fine. I you ask me it means better privacy. I don't think anyone is going to have a problem with this phone as far as reception and interference goes, maybe in 2 years from now when the 5.8Ghz spectrum gets crowded you may have a problem.

I've had this phone for over 2 weeks and love it! It's very clear! I not a big fan of wireless phones, but this one is the exception! I love it! Very sytlish! I'm also very pleased that it doesn't cause any problems with my wireless network! The joy! Buy this phone fast!

The price is a bit high for what you get, but it's one of the few options that won't interfere with a WiFi network. Reception, voice quality, and answering machine quality are all good. I was also surprised by how well the speakerphone worked, both on the base as well as the handset.Only a couple of things prevent me from rating this with 5 stars. First, Caller ID is only displayed on the handset. Second, I wish there was a real battery gauge rather than just a low battery warning. In all, you won't be disappointed with this machine.
