I have to say I really love this phone... no problems what so ever. The distance is great; we haven't had any problems with reception within the house or outside it. Nice display with caller id. Buttons work great and the phone fits nicely into your hand. The only thing that I do suggest is that you do read the description...Extra Caller ID Handset and Charger Included, it means as well as the base set wiih caller id, you also receive the handset and charger.

When our last kitchen phone died, I specifically went out to buy a "better" phone and I thought I understood that Uniden was the best. We've had many others, including Panasonic, Vtech, AT&T as well as others I can't even remember. This phone has great features and after you spend hours setting it up, you will discover with your first phone call that people with whom you are trying to converse cannot hear you well. I've had comments about how it doesn't even sound like my voice (much lower)to people asking if I had laryngitis. I've tried moving the phone to other jacks in the house to no avail. I've never had such poor quality with less expensive phones. My advice...don't waste your money.

I haven't had any issues with this phone. It's a great phone for the price. The wireless works fine through the walls, both upstairs and downstairs. The sound quality is definitely better than most phones. I have never heard any static or received interference from my router which runs on 5.8 as well. I definitely recommend this product.

This has really been a good system for me overall with a few minor complaints.

On the upside:
-- Call quality and handset range is good, no interference or static from Wifi stuff in the house.
-- Speakerphone on the base and the handsets works really well. The sound is loud and most folks can hear me just fine.
-- Battery life in the handsets is really good, especially taxing it using the speakerphone a lot.
-- Handsets are comfortable and easy to hold (good form factor)

On the downside:
-- Caller ID. Storing or redialing numbers from the caller ID list is almost useless because the 10 digit number is what is displayed and stored. If you want to call outside your home area code you need to find a means of sticking a 1 in front of the number, which is cumbersome at best.
-- Buttons on the base are a little small for dialing.
-- There is no slot in the base for a backup battery in case the power goes out.

THIS IS A NICE PHONE TO LOOK AT AND IS SIMILAR TO THE 8885, BUT THERE ARE A FEW DIFFERENCES.. ALSO AFTER APPROX. A WEEK THE PHONE WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL. SO THE SELLER WAS CONTACTED AND THE PHONE WAS RETURNED..

Good thing first
1. The speaker for both base and hs are good, clear and loud.
2. Both base and hs support mute and speaker.
3. The HS battery is quite good, I used it to join a conference all, 45 minutes, battery still full.

Not so good:
1. the keypad on base is a little small.

The description says that this item includes an extra handset and charger. It didn't come with one. When I contacted customer service I was told that it was a misunderstanding on MY PART!!!! I have tried to escallate the issue and have not received a response. I will update if they ever decide to contact me.
