Uniden WXI377 900 MHz Water-Resistant Cordless Phone with Caller ID

After losing several cordless phones to the pool and hot tub, I decided on a water-resistant cordless phone. The Uniden WXI377 fit the bill. It works after being submerged in the hot tub and the signal/reception is still great. I recommend this phone around pools or hot tubs.

Don't buy this phone if you need to cover areas reliably more than 50 feet away. Even closer than that, there are dead spots. The good news is that it's really waterproof and the voice quality and features are great. I set it up in a back bedroom, nearest my hot tub in the yard, and it's perfect for that.

We started using this phone around Christmas time. So far, no problems, though we use mostly outdoors and around the hot tub (I haven't tried to see just how waterproof it is). I don't have any complaints. Sound is loud both on earpiece and on the other end. The distance is fine--we live in a large 3 story house and we haven't had any problems with reception within it or outside it. Nice display with caller id. Buttons work fine. I wish all phones could be made this rugged.

I purchased this phone because of the waterproof feature. I own
a restaurant and this is the only cordless phone that has stood
up to tough handling. (ie. wet hands, splattering milkshakes, dropping,
etc.) I have had this phone over a year and it still
does the job. The range is not really an issue with me, but there is static
if I take it to my office in the rear of the
building. However, this is not much different than others I have owned.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that I wish it had an earpiece
volumn and the words on some of the keys are wearing
off from constant use.

I purchased this phone to use outdoors poolside, so I wanted the waterproof features. The performance is not what I have grown to expect for a 900mghz cordless however. At 50 feet, the connection is full of static, regardless of if I change the channels or not. I don't think that I have tested the water-proof features yet, but you never know with kids.

Please do not waste your time with this one. I purchased this phone to use by the pool and was disappointed to find I could not get any reception more than 30ft from the base. What is the point of having a "waterproof" phone if it cannot be used outside? Also, when I was able to receive/make calls, the reception quality was very poor. This phone, although a great idea, is now sitting in the closet collecting dust. I wonder if it's dust proof too?

Phone is waterproof as it proclaims. Was dropped into pool and works fine. Any bad thing is sometimes conversations have alot of static, but this can be cleared by scanning for a new channel. Slight inconvienence when having a conversation. Overall a very good product and well worth the investment for a water resistant phone for poolside.

was wonderful, issued a call tag for it, and promptly sent the
replacement..
The phone is not as clear as we had hoped for, has a slight
buzzing noise we can hear while speaking, but perhaps it is our phone line itself, not sure

We got this phone so that we could have a phone out by the pool (yes, how we suffer). We wanted a phone that we could talk on while we're floating in the pool, splashing around, etc. The Uniden WX1377 fits the bill quite nicely.

We were hoping to find a 5.8 Ghz phone for outside, to match the rest of our cordless phones, but this one works quite well. We've had a little bit of static using it once, and had to go inside and switch to a "real" phone. We've tossed this phone in the water (it does float) and picked it up and talked directly in the water.
we're outside, there is a lot of noise, and we want a LOUD ring. This phone doesn't have one. But other than that - a fine outside phone for all-weather use. And if you have a swimming pool, you definitely want this phone.

Basic feature cordless phone that is totally waterproof! It floats in the pool, when it rings we just pick it up out of the water and answer! the range is not as far as a regular in-house cordledss (about 30' stays very clear) but the waterproof feature is GREAT.

The phone is also ruggedized, and drops are no problem on concrete or tile. Perfect phone around water...and not to bad in the house either!
