Gel-Sol is Seattle based producer/musician Andrew Reichel, whose dichotomous sound spans from ambient soundscapes to complex, rhythmic electronica, creating a dynamic psychedelic universe with heavy emphasis on improvisation. Influences range from 70s prog and kraut rock to electronic and psychedelic. Often compared to the Orb, however, the Gel-Sol sound and experience is all its own. Unifactor is the debut Gel-Sol release on Upstairs Recording.

It's good. As it mentions in the Amazon review, Gel-Sol get's compaired frequently to The Orb. Just understand that he is not The Orb. He has his own style and sound.

This is a great album for relaxing. I found that after a long day some tracks can be soothing to listen to. After writing to Gel-Sol on myspace, he gave me a link to download some music samples. Since I have some music from him I went out and got me a copy of Unifactor. I dig it.

If you like relaxing electronic music, then this product is for you.

He's yer pal, he's Gel-Sol. . .

I picked up this CD as I saw that Gel-Sol has a release on the legendary ambient label, EM:T. I figured if EM:T has backed this artist up he must be good and of course tracking down the EM:T release is just too much trouble! I'm glad to say that this CD does not disappoint at. Having been a long time listener of electronic music, this CD takes me back to the glory days of early Orb material. Some may be put off by the spoken parts of this CD but this did not distract me at all. A nice CD to put on repeat mode before going to sleep. Essential.....

Take a bit of the ORB and blend with some TRS-80, Amon Tobin, and a bit of cosmic wankery and you get you some GEL-SOL.

Deelightful ambient electronica that is not of the snooze-inducing variety, sprinkled with deliciously trippy audio samples (headphones recommended).
