I have been using one of those big metal cans with the hand pump that creates a vacuum for 7 years. I have been cursing it for 7 years also. It took about 45 min of pumping and waiting and pump more, wait more. This 12v pump was a breeze to use, 5 minutes-done. You absolutely must run the motor under load to get oil hot enough, not just bring motor to operating temp. All that tells you is the coolant temp. The hose could be a little longer because the pump was nearly leaning against dipstick tube when I could feel pump hose bottom out against oil pan. Definitely made crawling around the bilge just a bit more dignified

I bought this product to change the oil in my outboard engines. It was somewhat difficult to use as the pickup tube is about a foot or two shorter than ideal and the discharge tube will pop out of your container and start spurting oil everywhere.

That was topped by my last usage, where it leaked about a quart out of the base for every four pumped out. I had oil everywhere. At one year old and only two previous uses, not very reliable.

It is now in the garbage.

The product works as said. The problem is the length of hose provided when inserting in to the dipstick to the oil pan, not long enough. Also, the machine is loud.

Couldnt get it to work for the life of me. Tried sticking it in a bucket of water and till nothing? Ended up using old hand held put that Ive had for years.
