I own many books on the Civil War and this is one of my favorites! The color plates are numerous and high quality, they show the great variety of uniform styles worn by both sides. They would be valuable to the buff, reenactor, war gamer and historian alike. Descriptions of the plates are also excellent. As a bonus there is more than just uniform information. There is a good overview of the major campaigns, descriptions of firearms and artillery, organizational information and more. No civil war buff should be without this book!
