Biography

“We titled the album Portraits for two reasons. Firstly, the title track is based on the story of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde‐‐a story about a hedonistic gentleman that becomes immortal when a painting is commissioned that ages and absorbs his sins instead of him. The story is a cautionary tale of the beauty and frailty of life. Secondly, Portraits depicts a person or ... Read more in Amazon's Bury Tomorrow Store

Editorial Reviews

Nuclear Blast debut for British metalcore upstarts Bury Tomorrow. In a genre full of sugar coated, cookie-cutter bands, they are a breath of fresh air. Bury Tomorrow have quickly become one of the most exciting bands on the world circuit. Their debut album Portraits was a prime example of how Metalcore SHOULD be done, showing flashes of brilliance usually expected from bands far older and more experienced. With equal emphasis on heaviness and melody, BT have forged a sound that is as crushing as it is catchy. In a genre full of sugar coated, cookie-cutter bands mixing singing and screaming to identical effect, Bury Tomorrow are a breath of fresh air. After numerous tours around the world with the likes of Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!, Otep and more, BT are set to make a devastating return to the fold with their Nuclear Blast debut, The Union of Crowns. This is a darker, heavier, more focused record from Bury Tomorrow, but one that still retains an enormous sense of melody.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good album January 13, 2014
Format:Audio CD
I gave this cd a chance after never hearing them and pretty much loved it after one listen. The singer has a good vocal range and the songs pack a punch. Definitely worth listening to.

A great album from start to finish. It really captivated what this genre should be. the only question I'm left with is WHY ISN'T BURY TOMORROW SIGNED TO A BIGGER LABEL OR AT LEAST ONE IN THE U.S?!?!?!?!?!?

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite album of 2012 January 31, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I was blown away by this album. I listened to the 3 singles (Lionheart, Royal Blood and An Honourable Reign) obsessively and the album was overall great. It's really well rounded and has great breakdowns, harsh vocals and clean vocals.
