after a few days, your birds will adapt to the dried worms and they will gobble them up - my bluebirds and robins wait for my to go to the feeder dish and then they fight over the dried worms!

This is how you use dried mealworms!,

I have been feeding my bluebirds these dried mealworms for over a year now. This is what I do. They need to be softened so I put a handful in a cereal bowl and fill half the bowl with water like Poland Springs. I also add a little bit of olive oil to help them soften and to give them gloss. I put them in the microwave until very hot but not boiling(maybe 30 - 45 seconds) and then I take them out and let sit on my counter for several minutes. I then put them back in the microwave for about 30 seconds more and I immediately add cold water. I bring outside and dump on the ground near the bird feeder. Once the birds recognize what they are they will be gobbled up in about half hour and you can feel good about helping your blue birds make it through to another year. I hope this is helpful. It should work well once the birds know what they are.Word of caution. All blackbirds love these meal worms. So watch to see they don't gobble them up. Robins do to but I like the robins so I let them eat a little.

I never purchased these before and I bought 10,000 of these dried worms. I got them today and the birds will not even touch them. Anyone else have this problem?I contacted Picnic World about this and asked if they would give me credit for another item seeing the birds would not eat these worms. I have not heard back from them as of yet.
