Need to trouble shoot the lights, lack of time to date to see if the batterys are loose. The one change I plan to make is to install thin weather stripping on the sides. During heavy rain the mail will get wet. Looks nice though.

Solid steel. Good solar panel. Locking mechanism. The light is very functional.

This is not a tamper-proof mailbox but it does add security. Mail could be fished out, but not simply taken out by hand. It mounts with screws to your siding/sheathing. If you have vinyl siding you will still have wood sheathing behind you can screw into.

The light is weak, but enough to light up the house number at night. The solar panel charges replaceable batteries. Very simple function. If the lights are batteries go out they are easy to fix, but I haven't had any problems.

The one drawback with house-mounted mailboxes is if it is exposed to rain and weather frequently it creates an area where moisture gets trapped and can damage siding and create rot. Therefore I would mount this only if it is under a porch or roofed area.

Hope that helps.
