5.0 out of 5 stars encore does it encore!!!
I am a big fan of encore. Intuition is one of the best albums around, period. Unique is not as great as intuition, but it Is almost up there. Encore has good taste and he figured that johanna's voice is not a best fit for music like that of intuition. Instead, he created what is a perfect fit for johanna's sensuality and warm voice. I bought the album. I listen to it...

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing!
well, theres like 3 or 4 actual dance songs on here. The rest of the album consists of slow songs, and really lame power dance ballads (which kinda sounds like cher's modern music). I hate when DJ'S put out an excellent 1st record, and completely change musical directions with there follow ups. This is a perfect example of this.

I listen to it everyday and I recommend it to anyone who appreciates bands like Lasgo, which I do. There are fast and slow tunes on this album, but all in good taste. The slow songs go well with johanna's voice. The best song on this album in my opinion is "sweater than beauty". It would be a shame if this song did not make it up the charts. Expect a video for it.

Other great tracks:
Point of no return
You make me feel alive
Walk on water
Falling

The other tracks are also good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, But its not like Intuition!, May 30, 2007

I love this album, but don't expect it to be like Intuition because its not! DJ Encore seems to be following the trend of other trance artists like Ian Van Dahl and Lasgo to do more commercial albums. There is a different version of "out there' on this that is almost unrecognizable from the original and samples Miami Sound Machines - Dr Beat!!! This great album needs a few listen to be appreciated.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is.... Unique.., December 24, 2009

DJ Encore follows up "Intuition" with "Unique" and incorporates a few changes. The album for the most part is pretty good. Unique debuts a different vocalist, Johanna, who definitely does a great job complementing his beats. Her voice is crisp and lends to the lyrics taking many of the tracks to another level. The album explodes with "You Can Walk On Water" and seems to somewhat taper off around "Follow In Your Footsteps". In trying not to sound too repetitive with high energy beats (which is no small feat for this genre), he seemed to be all over the place with tempo and caused the album flow to be off a bit. I would have rearranged a few tracks so that "Falling" and "Catch Me" would have immediately followed the opening track, but that's what playlists are for. Other great tracks include "Nobody Wants To Try", "You Make Me Feel Alive", and "Point of No Return" which exhibited the perfect blend of instrumental and Johanna's voice.
I would give this album 3.75 stars if I could, instead of 4. I felt it lacked a bit of energy, despite a five year hibernation period, and fell somewhat short compared to his "Intuition". Nonetheless, DJ Encore did a good job with this album mixing great vocals with some pulsating beats. I would definitely recommend this album and look forward to more work from this artist.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dj Encore - Unique Excellence, November 8, 2007

Finally, Dj Encore has retured! What can I say about this "Unique" album? IT WAS AWESOME!

This album with the lyrics were so moving. It kinda like lite rock and electronica in one. His style is a little different but awesome nontheless. Some tracks are not as trancy where other tracks are trancier than he's been previously. Engelina does a few back vocals on two or three tracks. We all know she's awesome. Johanna is the new singer. She was beautiful on this album in a different way from the first one. Wow, her lyrics were moving. Great tracks! "Sweeter Than Beauty, Falling, Nobody Wants to Try, On Your Own" Just plain awesome tracks. The lyrics hit home more on this album, more realistic I should say, not to take anything away from Engelina of course. Both singer add so much pure beauty to this music. It was thoroughly enjoyable! I hope all Dj Encore fans enjoy this album. Just remember though, nothing, and I mean nothing beats "I See Right Through To You." Unique is just as good though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breaking up? Nobody Wants to Try....., August 14, 2007

I work in an office. A BORING office. (actually I work in Tribune's TV Editorial Dept.) 50/50, really. My point is..I sit in a cubicle with nothing but work and music to keep me company. Well...to make a long story short, I am just getting over a breakup with the person I have been with for nearly 5 years. Listening to Yahoo Launch one day while editing some TV Schedules...DJ Encore's "Nobody Wants To Try" was played. I was almost instantly in tears. This song speaks so much for those who have been "ruined" by "one way" relationships gone bad. It also reflects the strength AND questioning of moving on. I bought the album the next day without even hearing other works by this genious. BUY THEM ALL. This DJ knows how to reach into every situation and pull out a memory that ANYONE can relate to. GUARANTEED - if you have lived life...and have been in a memorable moment.....Encore has it covered. BUY THIS ALBUM.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, August 9, 2007
This review is from: Unique (Audio CD)
I really liked DJ Encore's first CD. And they have kept up their high quality work. If you like their first CD this is a must. Of the latest Techno that has come out I think this is one of the best. So any easy 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Anyone Ever Heard of the group Da Buzz....?, May 25, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Unique (Audio CD)
Because evidently DJ Encore has. Every single song sounds like it is off of a "Da Buzz" album. The new vocalist sounds EXACTLY like Annika from "Da Buzz." You can actually sing the words to some of their songs to the music of the new DJ Encore disc. Not that this is a bad thing, because "Da Buzz" is one of the greatest dance-pop groups ever assembled, and I think DJ Encore may be a fan. To his credit, he has come up with a set of beats that are a little more modern than the last record, but the first reviewer was correct, too many ballads here. If you love this disc, check out the album "Alive" by Da Buzz. It is better than anything that even the ethereal Madonna has ever released. As for DJ Encore, he has mad talent, and should not wait five years to share it with us again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Return of Andreas with new vocalist, Johanna!!!, May 18, 2007
This review is from: Unique (Audio CD)
Dj Encore (aka: Andreas Hemmeth) has done it again. Since his amazing debut, "Intuition" released in 2001 (Import) and 2002 (Domestically)with vocalist Engelina, fans of his have been eagerly awaiting a follow-up album. Now 2007 Andreas has released "Unique", a worthy and incredibly produced follow-up. This time around he lends beautifully sung vocals from Johanna. Every song is unique and gives a special meaning of life. Just listen to the words, listen to the beats, and let the melody and sound fill your soul. This is the best album of 2007! Hands Down!!! PICK UP A COPY OR TWO! :)
