From Library Journal
The latest of Crown's histories of the major Hollywood studios. Following the standard format for the series, each film released by the studio (1581 from United Artists) receives some kind of coverage, usually a brief paragraph giving major credits, a synopsis, and a bit of criticism, along with a still from the picture. Lamentably, some films are listed only in truncated form, without a photo, as in other recent series titles. However, such listings are not numerous and are used only for releases after 1950. Bergan's critical taste often puts him in the minority, and he has let an error or two slip through, but the book is still worthwhile and a necessity for special collections.
