My hopes were high after a couple of video reviews and all the other reviews on this product... And i must say it doesn't disappoint...

The M48 Hawk is a perfect weapon or tool, based on how you intend to use it... Well balanced and just the right length to wield either with one arm or two... Good gripping surface and comes with a provision to loop a paracord for securing it well...

The blade is a wicked sick design as it has a good head to toe ratio and the rear guard doesn't disappoint one bit... The actual cutting edge is quite sharp... The butt is not sharp but good enuf to pierce any soft objects...

Sheath is also reasonably good but could have been better in terms of perfect fitting... For a comparison, check the cold steel trench hawk's plastic sheath... However, this is but a minor setback, if one considers it so...

Overall i have thoroughly enjoyed wielding this blade and scaring the living daylights out of my family and friends, who, after initial apprehensions have begun to like it themselves...

Thoroughly recommended for campers/trekkers and adventure enthusiasts... Or even for someone who just loves wicked blades with skulls engraved on them :D

Special mention to the one day delivery by Jalic.Inc... Truly appreciated...

Bought this product after seeing reviews that were mostly positive and also watching videos of people throwing them and saying how solid they were. I had mine for at most 20 minutes and threw it about 5 times and then it just broke in half about 3/4th up the handle. I would not recommend this product unless you plan on just having it as a wall decoration.

this hawk is great, it looks and feels just like i thought it would. the steel stops just below the lowest bolt,(not full tang) but that in no way throws off the feel or balance of this thing. it came sharpened to perfection, and just looks beautiful, the workmanship is also flawless (i got 2 of 'em). i am extremely happy.

I like tactical tomahawks because I like the idea of this very old type of weapon, updated for todays situations. I don't "use" them like a warrior in our service might in a distant battle. I collect them. For that purpose this hawk is very cool. One of the baddest looking of the current crop, but not full tang, and the blade is a little thin. If I was a warrior in a distant land, I would get the S&W hawk. Full tang, much heavier, more serious. If you want a very cool looking tomahawk with some utility, buy it. If your life hangs in the balance, look elsewhere.

It was great for the first hour or so of use but the handle broke at the bottom of the tang. After looking a little closer I noticed a large air bubble in the plastic. the break happened right in the middle of this air pocket so I can only assume it was the cause of the break. I really liked the M48 at first. Great weight, looks, and sharp out of the box. Maybe what happened to me was a fluke but still not happy

This review was written by my son. This axe arrived in time. But after my first use the tip of the pointed end broke off! I was so mad because I paid for a quality item and that is certainly not what I got. It breaks extremely easily. I was just testing it out and I stuck it into a tree by the pointed end and when I pulled it out the tip was gone! This is a big mistake. I would not recommend this to anyone it is not a quality product. Plus, in the description it never states where it is made. I will tell you it is made in China. I do not recommend this product to anyone. In fact, I will discourage people to buy this product. This is a low quality piece of equipment that is made in a sub par factory in China. The tip breaks off easily and the blade dulls and gets chipped as well. I am very disappointed in United Cutlery. I was even thinking of buying a knife from United Cutlery but now I will think twice before buying anything from them.

Although I haven't used it much I really like this tactical hawk. It shipped with a razor sharp edge and it has kept the edge very well through moderate use. Great for taking with you when you go out to the boonies, and very intimidating if needed :).

The Axe arrived fine. After a few uses I noticed that the metal connecting the head of the axe to the handle was cracking. A few more uses and it completely broke off. Amazon refunded the money though so all is good.
