I just received my book a few days ago and have been reading it everyday since. Our youth ministry is starting over, and the ideas, direction, and apparent experience offered in this book are so very helpful. You not only get an overview, but practical breakdown as well. I am learning to see each young person as being on their own personal journey and how to reach each one where they are, to walk with them in their faith walk, and to look for ways to help them understand their place in God's family as well as offering them opportunities to stretch and grow. This book is relevent, refreshing, and inspirational...and the ongoing updates through their website keep it fresh! So thankful that I found this!

This handbook has a wealth of practical information for adults who work with youth in local churches. It not only includes many ideas on how to organize and structure your ministry with youth, but reminds us why we take the time to assist youth in their faith journeys. Chapter Four has an especially helpful "Web of Discipleship" which guides you in evaluating your youth in relationship to their Christian development. Then it goes on to describe how to relate to and work with youth in each area of the web. Other chapters include leadership issues, check-lists for retreats, having a vision, and many other practical areas. This book is useful for the beginner, the experienced, and everyone in-between! I highly recommend it to you!
