This book covers the United Nation's intervention in war-torn Cambodia. More specifically, it talks about the service of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC), an organization which has offered native Cambodians a chance for freedom. The book outlines the group's basic mission, which is basically two-fold: the need to establish a military to aid in the policing of the country (including the removal of non-foreign forces and the need to clear mine fields) and the the civilian aspect- getting people to cooperate and work with UNTAC and to vote in demoractic elections. The book contains a solid report of the time spent the past decade of UNTAC in Cambodia, and is filled with many engaging and colorful pictures. Overall, this book is an excellent read for those unfamiliar with Cambodia's struggle (and new hope) or even for Cambodians like myself.
