5.0 out of 5 stars Well-Researched & Relevant, January 30, 2007
This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
This is a very important read for anyone unacquainted with the UN's true agenda. Watching the TV news or reading entertainment masquerading as journalism (Time, Newsweek, U.S. News) will not do this subject justice. In addition, the writing style is engaging and friendly to the general reader. Anyone who reads this book with an open mind will walk away stunned. Jasper has long researched the UN and has been in attendance at many of their functions. His footnotes and documentation are exemplary. I use this book, along with a few others, as a cornerstone source for the Foreign Policy unit lecture notes I give students in my Senior U.S. Government class.

In case you're interested, the others are:

"The Shadows of Power" by James Perloff

"The Costs of War" & "Reassessing the Presidency" by John V. Denson, ED.

"A Republic, Not An Empire" by Patrick J. Buchanan

Given the two unfair reviews below it is incumbent upon me to also point out that one should actually read the book one is reviewing in order to make a positive contribution to the Amazon.com review system. Embarrassing yourself with worthless comments may be thrilling as an excuse to see your name on the internet, but many of us prefer intelligent discourse instead. As the two "reviewers" below pointed out, this book is published by the John Birch Society. Unlike those two "reviewers", however I will not proceed at this point to engage in an ignorant, uninformed attack on that organization. The discredited smears against the John Birch Society are based on intemperate, usually out of context, anti-Eisenhower remarks made by their founder in the 1950s, out of his frustration with the decline of freedom in this once great nation. Are you going to smear the ACLU because their founder specifically declared communism to be their chief goal? Are you going to smear Planned Parenthood because their founders' intentions were to prevent non-whites from overbreeding? The John Birch Society is and always has been comprised of kind, God-fearing, well-intentioned Americans who are genuinely concerned about liberty. Their opposition to the "Civil Rights" racket as well as their clear-eyed view of Nelson Mandela (both alluded to in the two "reviews" below) are evidence of thoughtful, independent analysis, as opposed to politically correct capitulation. To begin your review with, "i(sic) have not read this book...", pretty much says it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars The United Nations Exposed, April 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
Jasper's tour de force pulverizes many misconceptions long fostered by America's foreign and domestic enemies. He takes the [largely misstated or concealed] record apart, then sets it straight. He names powerful [mostly American] Insiders -- the little known and the legendary -- who, like "Judas goats," have recurrently led America down disastrous pathways under cover of darkness, while we trusted our government to honor America's highest traditions. The Insider modus operandi has always been one of self-service, stealth, cunning, chicanery, even treason. They knew that to state their objectives openly and honestly would cause them to be rejected, root and branch. The Insiders, who live in the lap of freedom, exert to destroy America's sovereignty, freedom, traditions; and civic conscience.

The United Nations, their stalking horse, never has had power or resources of its own; so feeds off its prey ("we give them the rope to hang us"). Jasper hot lights the corruptness of the U.N.'s founders, who massacred millions of their Russian countrymen. The Insiders' credo (socialistic-communistic-atheistic) and goals (absolute control over the world's people and its resources) have never changed. The UN's burgeoning thug-states commit depravities as a way of life, vote the totalitarian line, and oppose America at every turn. While our nation, out of a great heart, has repeatedly given of its largesse to promote freedom and international well-being, The Insiders have converted that to the advantage of despots. By a cleverly devious "pincer strategy," they have achieved horrific outcomes, then hailed them as crowning successes, e.g. Yalta, Dumbarton Oaks. Jasper's large canvass captures The Insider/UN's flaws and malfeasance, ongoing subterfuge, and direct ties to genocide. (So much for Kofi Annan's Nobel Peace Prize)

While America slept, the entire world has "advanced" to regionalism -- the penultimate phase of evolution towards one-world government. During this transition, nations will continue, in the wake of the European Union, to become economic vassal states. Then comes the closely following coup d'etat: one-world government under The United Nations -- and enforced tyranny, with all civilians disarmed, the U.N. holding overwhelming power (ceded by its handmaid, America). Those many UN "treaties" now on the shelf, will spring into full force and effect throughout the world; there will be no checks, balances, or [meaningful] appeals.

Jasper asks and answers searing bedrock questions. We will define ourselves and our futures by the way we choose to engage them. Apathy and inertia are one option!

** Why has America progressively lost control of its destiny
during the past
75 years?
** Don't global problems require global solutions?
** Isn't the UN our last best hope for peace -- subject perhaps
to a few reforms?
** Would American leaders really betray fellow Americans to
an outside enemy?
** Aren't "sovereignty" and "borders" passe in a "free trade"
economy? (read: Is the economy the country?)
** How did America ever become endlessly mired in no-win
military conflicts, peace-keeping operations; and nation
building having nothing to do with America's vital
interests?
** What Constitutional authorization is there for America to
serve as a global police force, empire builder, and nanny?
Will our citizenry rise up with one voice to require its
elected representatives to summarily reject such nonsense?
** Can America's constitutional freedoms and protections be
stolen away by a "thief in the night?" (We are not
helpless. We are the only world superpower and can stop it in
its tracks!)
** What will happen to private property, family sanctity,
religious faith, personal handgun protection, no taxation
without representation, citizens' rights in the context of
ecological stewardship? (These are ALL rhetorical questions!
The U.N.'s myriad "treaties" are brimming over with
answers -- all detrimental to America's best interests.)

Each generation of Americans must validate its own claim to freedom or risk losing freedom forever. A quick search of the world globe shows how perishable freedom is.

Lincoln: "If [danger] is to reach us . . . if destruction [is to be] our lot, we must ourselves be [its] author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." That was true when Lincoln's army saw [this reviewer's Confederate forbears] poised to attack from across the Potomac. It is no less true today.

"Fellow frogs," the temperature of our comfy water bath is being raised so slowly we don't realize we are being cooked. The chefs -- George W. Bush, Vicente Fox, Trent Lott, Richard Gephardt, (their minions), and countless transnational corporations ("citizens of the world") demand that America's borders be opened to "free trade," the entire socialist panoply, and a balkanized country. They do so in language best suited for marketing "poisonous candy" as an edible. Post-September 11, are we Americans merely lemmings ready to rush off cliffs?

The Founding Fathers knew that America would be tested to its core. (Benjamin Franklin (in response to a woman's inquiry): What we have given you is a Constitutional Republic, if you can keep it.)

They pleaded with us, their descendants, not ever to become entangled in permanent foreign alliances! We have not kept the faith. It is time to remove the wide-ranging peril Jasper's book describes. We can do so by getting the United States out of the United Nations and the United Nations out of the United States.

If you are one of the small, but growing, minority of people on Earth who are just now waking up to the reality that national sovereignties and individual liberal liberties have been gradually handed over to the powerful elite financial families and organizations who invented the United Nations, then this book will enhance your education. Focus on the intentions that were set in motion by such people as cult-crazed Maurice Strong to engineer a phoney Global Warming propaganda stream designed to fleece wealth from wealthier nations and funnel that money and control to a New World Government. These creatures claim that their intention is to control all wealth in the world so that they can divide prosperity equally among all peoples of Earth - yes the ultimate Communist Shangri-la. However, since the world is nowhere near total global prosperity, it is evident that the intent of these UN Elitists is to "rob from the rich and keep for themselves." Of particular note to me was the fact that the UN presents itself as a secular, humanist organization. However, in reality, their policymakers are ruled by age-old demonic religious cults whose authority is based on the idea that The Few have achieved the proper Illumination to give them the right to rule the world. [My note, but not in the book: The good news is that the New World Order is doomed to failure. Once the Anglo-American empire falls --and it will-- all human efforts at world governance will be destroyed once and for all by our Creator. (Daniel 2:44) ]

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the most important books you will ever read, February 7, 2004

This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
If you ever wondered what is going wrong in the world -- you need to read this book.

In case you are a naysayer that thinks "conspiracies can't happen" -- I hate to tell you but one is going on right now under your nose.

In case you are naive and think the United Nations is the last great hope for peace in the world -- think again. The U.N. has never met a dictator they didn't like -- unless they couldn't control them.

If you ever wanted to know what is really behind globalization, terrorism, the FTAA, NAFTA, GATT, WTO, the International Criminal Court, etc then you need to look no further than this book!

William F. Jasper: The United Nations Exposed.

Jasper's tour de force pulverizes many misconceptions long fostered by America's foreign and domestic enemies. He methodically, meticulously takes the largely misstated, concealed record apart, then sets it straight. He names powerful [mostly American] Insiders -- the little known and the legendary -- who, like "Judas goats," have propelled America (and the world, at large) down many wrong-headed, destructive roads under cover of darkness. Our trusted leaders certainly knew where they were going. Their modus operandi has always been stealth, cunning, chicanery, and treason; they knew full well their agenda would fail if presented to the American people openly and honestly. The Insiders who have lived in the lap of freedom have, nonetheless, exerted to destroy America's sovereignty, freedom, and civic conscience.

The United Nations, their co-villain and stalking horse, has never had power or resources of its own -- so feeds off duped benefactor nations, with the ultimate aim of toppling them. Jasper hot lights the corruptness of the U.N. and its founders, who massacred millions of fellow Russians. The Insiders' goal has always been to achieve absolute control over the world's people and its resources. Their credo has always been socialistic-communistic-atheistic. The UN's ever proliferating thug states perpetrate and/or whitewash whatever depravities suit them; they voted the totalitarian line (almost always against the United States, but eat out our substance. ("useful idiots who give us the rope to hang them") And what has America's immense outreach done to elevate freedom in the world? Not much, given the hands-on controls of American Insiders whose clever "pincer strategy" has betrayed many America's highest precepts (such outcomes marketed to us as noble victories). Jasper's large canvass shows the UN's many flaws and failings, reveals its subterfuge, its ties to genocide.

Meanwhile, America slept. And for it's part, the world has "advanced" to the regional (penultimate) phase of evolution towards one-world government, viz. national identities are becoming submerged in economic, then political, blocs (as vassal states). Very closely behind comes global U.N. tyranny, complete with disarmament of all civilians populations and overwhelming U.N. power (ceded by America, the UN's subservient handmaid). The UN "treaties" now poised on the shelf will spring into full force and effect throughout the world -- no checks and balances, no meaningful appeal.

Jasper asks and answers bedrock questions America can choose to ignore, but cannot escape the fateful consequences if we fail to see clearly and stand ready to fight for freedom.

** Why has America progressively lost control of its destiny during the past 70-75
years?
** Don't global problems require global solutions?
** Isn't the UN our last best hope for peace, subject to a few reforms?
** Would Americans really turn against fellow Americans, betray them in servile support
of UN objectives?
** Aren't "sovereignty" and "borders" passe in today's global economy?
** How did America ever become mired down in endless no-win military conflicts,
peace-keeping operations; and nation building not tied to America's own vital
interests?
** Where does one find Constitutional authorization for America to serve as
nanny to the rest of the world -- the rich as well as the poor? And why don't
Americans rise up to demand a stop to that? It will destroy us.
** Can any "outside" entity(ies) abrogate America's constitutional government,
freedoms, and protections, like a thief in the night? Certainly, Americans can
stop them? We are the one remaining superpower!
** What will happen to private property, family sanctity, religious faith, personal
handgun protection, no taxation without representation, citizens' rights in the
context of ecological stewardship? (These are ALL rhetorical questions! The
U.N.'s many "treaties" overflow with answers, to the detriment of America's
priceless heritage. Only certain unsavory (wake-up) details are "conveniently"
withheld during this transitional phase.

Jasper brings cogency, urgency, and fine writing skills to what shapes as a crowning debate. The message: Each generation of Americans must validate its own claim to freedom or lose freedom forever.

Lincoln said, "If [danger] is to reach us . . . if destruction [is to be] our lot, we must ourselves be [its] author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." That was not ballyhoo when Lincoln's army faced my Confederate forbears just across the Potomic River; nor has it become so at any stage thereafter.

"Fellow frogs," the temperature of our comfy water bath is being raised so slowly we don't realize we are being cooked. The chefs -- George W. Bush, Vincente Fox, Trent Lott, Richard Gephardt, their minions, and countless (once proudly American) but now transnational corporations (and "citizens of the world") -- press vigorously for open borders, free trade, the entire socialist panoply, all dressed up in language suitable for selling "poisonous candy." They seem to expect that we have become witless lemmings ready to run for the cliff -- notwithstanding the horrific lessons of September 11, 2001

The Founding Fathers knew we would be tested in this way. They did their providential best to equip us with constitutional means to withstand all such assaults.

First and foremost, they repeatedly and emphatically warned us not to let America become entangled in foreign alliances! But ours is an age of enlightened self-sufficiency. And our (self-sufficient) leaders tell us the Constitution is a "living, breathing" document that should be changed, as needed, to meet the needs imposed by a now complex, non-agrarian economy and culture (translate: we demagogues are ready to become your new world icons. Globalism beckons.)

We must see that this grotesque gestation arrives still-born. Get the United States out of the United Nations and the United Nations out of the United States.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you THINK you know is WRONG!, November 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
Have you ever watched the news and wondered what is going wrong in the world?

Why are nonsense laws being passed?

Why is the US Constitution being shelved?

Why have American schools become "dumbed down"?

Why are American Soldiers being placed under International authority?

Why are "open borders" being pushed by politicians?

Why are are our historic sites being turned over to an international authority?

Why is out military being exploited?

Why are schools ignoring the second amendment and comparing the US Constitution to the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Charter?

Why is our judicial system using "international law" to pass judgements in the US instead of the US Constitution?

Why does the world seem to have gone insane?

Read this book and you will find the answers! The United Nations is not the caring, philanthropic organization that you were taught about in school. The United Nations is not the savior of the world that the mainstream media would have you to believe. The United Nations is simply a miserable grasp at World Government. You'll be shocked at how far along the agenda REALLY is!

Read this book and all the chaos will suddenly become crystal clear!

4.0 out of 5 stars WORLD PEACE, May 5, 2003
By
Lora (Kansas City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
I found this book to be very one sided. The author is trying to prove his point that the UN is some type of poison being fed to the rest of the world as a form of candy. He accused the UN of wanting to do away with small governments and create a world government. By using examples such as the international criminal court treaty, a treaty in which anyone can be brought to a world trial. Though it did open my eyes to things they don't teach you in high school, i found myself a little uneasy by the time i got to the 2nd chanpter. If all the author is saying is true. well then i think the US needes to make a drastic decision and pull itself right out of the UN. But then again the author could be completely over ananalyzing the world we live in simply trying to unify itself. And i see no harm in doing that.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ultra-Conservative Propaganda, February 13, 2002

This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
Ok, first off this book is written and promoted by The John Birch Society. Now that should be known so any future readers who don't want to support this kind of propaganda or ultraconservative organization. It also lets you know what you are getting yourself into before you buy it.
That being said Jasper makes some interesting and provocative points, but they are lost in paranoid ramblings. In my opinion the direct quotes he uses are chilling and deserve consideration for anyone who opposes the UN becoming THE global superpower. Anyone who opposes a one world government can find some nuggets of useful information, but will be irritated by the writing.
Jasper is a terrible writer and repeats himself constantly. He also makes the cardinal mistake when it comes to propaganda, make it palatable for the middle of the road readers. You have to be REALLY far gone to enjoy this book.
There HAS to be a better book about the UN than this one. All this is a bunch of paranoid ramblings about a one world government. There is VERY little actual "exposing" of the UN. Avoid at all costs, unless you need to find very few nuggets of information for an academic paper.

This review is from: The United Nations Exposed (Paperback)
It has been the official policy of the United States for the last 40 years to completely disarm itself (in other words, change commands) in order to allow for the eventual emergence of an all-powerful "United Nations Peace Force", which will be the only military force allowed to exist in the entire world. For proof of this, see Freedom From War: The United States Program for General and Complete Disarmament in a Peaceful World. Also see Title 22, Chapter 35 of the United States Code.

We must get out of the United Nations. If we don't, "travail" will come upon us, "and there will be no escape."
