Amazing knife at very low price,
By The Blade It seems that the blade is one piece measuring 9 1/2 inches all along through the handle but I can't be sure of this. To say this knife is sturdy is an understatement. No matter what I use it for, whether I throw it at a tree or in the ground, it DOES NOT become loose. The knife is very very sharp right out of the box. In fact, I have had it for a few months now and have yet to sharpen it. The blade is made of a very high quality metal. It stands up to very high impact work without fault. It simply "feels" like a good combat knife should. The Handle The handle is as good of quality as the blade. The finger holes in it make it very very comfortable to use with either hand and holding the knife in the upright or down position. Whether you have big or small fingers. It is fitted in a way that if you were to stab a tree to hold it, it doesn't hurt your hand/fingers. I am able to wear gloves and still fit my fingers in it with ease. The Sheath The sheath is my favorite part of this knife. Not only are you able to use it as a shoulder sheath that you can wear underneath a coat completely concealed but you can wear it on your belt, your boot, or in a deep pocket. On top of that, the knife "clips" in it so that it stays in place at all times unless you want to remove it. Wearing it as a shoulder sheath is very very comfortable even with the heavy weight of the knife. It straps to your shoulder then completes the strap down to your pants holding it in place almost like suspenders. It is completely adjustable to fit any size torso/mid-section. As a belt sheath, it is very clever as you can have it strapped to the back of your belt with the knife going in to your back pocket concealed this way too because your shirt would naturally cover it. As a boot knife it's great because it has a metal piece that will hold it in place alone on your boot but you can also get a small comfortable strap for it to also to feed through where you would put your belt through it which straps it very very securely to your leg. Almost like having a belt on your calf. No matter whether you have it on your shoulder, belt or boot the sheath is made so that you can easily remove it for use. You typically will need to use two hands to remove it from the shoulder strap but is not inconvenient at all. I work 3rd shift which can be dangerous sometimes and wear this knife every night underneath my suit jacket and no one even knows I have a knife on me. I love the sheath. If I was forced to find something wrong with this knife setup, I would have to say that it is a little heavy. However, heavy is good in my honest opinion. It shows quality. And even with it's a little above average weight, it is never uncomfortable to wear (and I wear suits to work) and the sheath never struggles to keep the knife safely inside of it. Conclusion If I could rate this knife higher I would and strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a great self defense weapon, hunting knife, or just everyday knife for useful jobs around the house. Not to mention, for self defense, it is a very intimidating looking knife especially when you remove it from your shoulder. This knife was money very well spent. I own lots of knives and swords and this knife is among one of my favorites. I literally always carry it with me where I am allowed to. Thanks for the great product.

I bought this as a christmas gift for my dad and now I want to keep it. There's no plastic, screws or anything to make this knife look like anything but bad-ass. I haven't used it for any rigorous tasks but the blade and handle are solid.

I bought this knife for a friend, and when I ordered it I didn't expect much. First off, I ordered it with other stuff, and it was definitely the fastest shipped item I had. It was shipped within hours of ordering, it got here around maybe 4-5 days early and even beat stuff on 2-day shipping when they said it would take a week. that really impressed me. When I opened the box, It looked amazing. A very high quality knife, there was some glue on the handle that I can't seem to ever get off but luckily It's barely noticable. The knife is about 1/8 inch thick, which is very good for a knife of any kind. The knuckles have sort of a rounded, yet pointed edge, which doesn't really affect its performance but makes the knife look very good. and the holster does an amazing job of holding the knife, it feels lose on you though. a great accessory especially since its free. Over all i am very impressed with this trench knife and I would reccomend anyone to buy it.

Knife=awesome, sheath=joke,

This knife is sweet! Relatively sharp out of the box, and looks plain scary. The knuckle guard is a little wide for me between the pinky and ring fingers, but I just grip the knife a little closer to my first knuckle and have no problems. The knife seems sturdily made, the handle is comfortable, and is relatively lightweight. The shoulder sheath, on the other hand, is a joke. The loop that goes around your shoulder is elastic, and the knife sticks in the sheath really well, so you can't even draw the thing with one hand, it just stretches. The material is flimsy nylon with a hard plastic inner sheath, and the clip and buckles could not handle anything more than light use. The first time things get heavy or someone pulls on the harness, it's coming off. Hopefully the knife isn't still sheathed if that happens and you need it. Also, while the knuckle guard is hard and adds a huge intimidation factor, it warrants some extra caution if used in any combat situation. If your opponent is trained in weapon take-aways, you could easily end up with four broken fingers and a broken wrist. Food for thought. Anyways, the point is the knife seems like a pretty good buy for 25$, but if the deciding factor is the shoulder harness (definitely lent some appeal for me), know that it's just a gimmick. If you plan on using the knife as a concealed self-defense weapon, design an improved harness and use the hard plastic liner. Otherwise, you might not be able to get your weapon out if and when you need it

buyer beware! i read the reviews and saw that someone got the wrong knife but hoped it was an isolated case. it was not and the same thing happened to me. i received the tanto serrated version in a ripped box. the knife is dull and clearly a returned item, possibly the one that was reported already. i will never do business with this seller again. returns are always a hassle and waste of time. i understand that mistakes happen but when the same mistake that has been reported happens, its unacceptable. hopefully amazon will rectify the problem and make sure the seller is held accountable for poor business practice.

There's really no getting around the fact that this is a knife designed for war, specifically against other humans. It has a decent feel to it, but it is different from knives which lack knuckle guards. It takes some getting used to, and is probably better for people with larger hands than mine.
The sheath, while versatile, is not very comfortable. I am going to make my own custom set of straps for it, as the elastic has too much give. It takes some force to remove the blade from the sheath, and if I'm not holding the sheath with the other hand it gets yanked away from my body and then slaps back. I'm working on a tighter, less stretchy rig. I'm a little concerned about the durability of the tip. A friend of mine (who is an idiot) stabbed the blade through three empty soda cans and into my floor. He also spent several minutes "sharpening" it while I was gone. I later inspected the knife and found the the tip, which had been very sharp, was now flat. It seems to have broken off, and there is a little chip near the tip as well. It's nothing major at all, and I'm working to fix it, but it does make me a little worried. Update: I have made a non-elastic shoulder rig which is much tighter and makes it easier to draw. I'm also not too worried about the durability, as I found that right under my carpet is a layer of concrete. Nothing dulls a knife like stone.

Solid knife with a metal knuckle guard with some heft and functionality to it. God forbid one ever has to use this, at least your own hand can't very well slip down and become cut on your own blade as readily as with a non-knuckle guard knife when applying a thrust. You can use your movements in combination with the knuckles to deliver a punch, swipe, block, or thrust. The different functions let you change how you use it midstream, which seems to make sense. There seems to be some sensible reasons why this design was used in WW1. For twenty five dollars, this is not bad at all. The only problem is while the sheath and knife are excellent the strap apparatus doesn't stay put as much I want, so I would wear it another way.

I found the knife itself to be almost unbelievable durable; using it several sword fights it was barely even scratched and the blade was not nicked at all, after enduring repeated, hard, blows. The only setback is the harness or sheath, it was very stretchy which forces you to very quickly jerk the knife out when removing it from its sheath.

I purchased this knife and was very happy with the product itself. The knife is very well put together and is a great deal for twenty two dollars and change. The over the shoulder sheath is a little awkward but is comfortable and would be easy to get used to. The problem was when I opened the box, the inside plastic sheath was cracked on the front and the back and had a piece missing. I have made 4 phone calls to the warranty number to this specific person, and I have yet to get a phone call from him to discuss the defect. Very frustrating when something is damaged in shipping or from the owner and they don't call back. It has been almost a month now, I will be sure to not purchase anything from "Wild Dog Knives" anymore, since they don't really have a person to represent them, their products, or their defects.
