Biography

US born crunk rap duo Kaine and D Roc, perform as the Ying Yang Twins. They had a R&B/Hip-Hop chart top 20 with "Whistle While You Twurk" in 2000. While the single gave them a profile, it was the track they did with Lil' Jon, "Get Low", from The King of Crunk album that broke them. The track was a big hit in the clubs and TVT signed them for Me & My Brother. The album included another track with… Read more in Amazon's Ying Yang Twins Store

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

On an album filled with a conventional spread of crunkadelic beats and yelled out choruses so popular in the dirty south, it's unexpected that the heart of the Ying Yang Twins new album would be the downtempo salaciousness at the center: "Wait," "Pull My Hair," and "Bedroom Boom." Guaranteed to either titillate or offend (or perhaps, both), the songs find the Ying Yang Twins pioneering a whole new sub-genre, what Mike Banner has (jokingly?) called "intimate club." If you prefer your Ying Yang fix outside the sheets though, they have some vigorously upbeat tracks like "Ghetto Classics" (which samples Art of Noise's 1980s new wave hit, "Beat Box") and the infectiously bilingual "Shake" feat. Miami's Pitbull. The album even gets serious with the somber "23 Hr. Lock Down" feat. UGK's Bun B who speaks on his partner's Pimp C's incarceration, as well as the single mama's anthem, "Live Again." -- Oliver Wang

Product Description

Atlanta's Ying Yang Twins follow up their platinum breakthrough TVT Records cd, "Me & My Brother" and its massive hit "Salt Shaker", with the album of their career, "United State Of Atlanta." Kaine and D-Roc's latest smash, "Wait (The Whisper Song)," dominated clubs, radio and TV music video countdowns throughout the spring of 2005. A second single, "Badd" featuring Mike Jones looks just as strong, even as fans can't get enough of the "Wait" remix featuring Lil Scrappy, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot and 106 & Park's Free. No longer just a Dirty South phenomenon, Ying Yang Twins have enlisted the help of guest stars Anthony Hamilton, Pitbull, Maroon 5 (yes that Maroon 5), Bun B, BG, Avant, Jacki-O and r&b singer Teedra Moses to present their most diverse and surprising album yet. Once again, DJ Smurf handles a lot of the production duties, and Lil Jon oversaw a track for his homies as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ying Yang Twins - USA, March 13, 2006
This review is from: Usa (United State of Atlanta) (Audio CD)
LOL. Alright yea yea we all know of YYT being a club banger group and what not. But come on! Ive only heard half of this album and its wack. All there other albums before this suck. They cant flow, they have HORRIBLE voices. They rap about the SAME things every song. Guess thats what people with no talent/money hungry do. I mean yea the girls like it in the clubs, but I mean thats as far as this music goes! Anyone can write lyrics about the stuff they do, and have a better voice than them! By far. Its funny how rap like this gets popular, but REAL hiphop doesnt, Ill always wonder that. Dont get this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dork music, July 13, 2006
This review is from: Usa (United State of Atlanta) (Audio CD)
Ok, booty rap was good in the 90's, when it was offensive and raunchy like, 2 live crew, Disco Rick and The Dogs, Poison clan etc.....But this is just wack weak lyrics, corny typical krunk beats that start all sounding the same....And is it just me are these guys as rappers, just horrible there voices all raspy, and annoying and one the guy's from the groups always does that annoying shout thing in interviews like hahhhhherrrrrr.....( what is he on crack or something)So if you like radio friendly, pretty boy music then the Ying Yang twins are for you peace....

1.0 out of 5 stars Ying Yang is the perfect name for such an imperfect duo, August 29, 2005
This review is from: Usa (United State of Atlanta) (Audio CD)
I wanna whisper a little something to all ya'll,(THIS ALBUM STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN ALONG WITH SLIMM SCRUB AND DEBBIE(AKA WEBBIE). They got the right name because every thing that comes out of their mouth is a bunch of Ying Yang. By them knowing that they talk a bunch of ying yang, they must know that they're weak. With all of my reviews toward Dirty south rappers, you might notice that they all sound the same because their music is all the same.

PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP AND UNDERSTAND THEY'RE LISTENING TO GARBAGE.

THE ALBUM TILTLE USA SHOULD STAND FOR UNDER SATURATED A*SES BECAUSE THEIR MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE S*IT.
