From the Back Cover

Which state — known as the "Golden State" — has trees that grow up to 300 feet high? Which East Coast state contains a re-creation of an authentic nineteenth-century sailing village? And which state leads all others in growing oranges? You'll find the answers to these questions and many others in this exciting coloring book spotlighting each of the 50 states.
Information accompanying each ready-to-color illustration identifies the state's motto, flower, bird, tree, capital, and principal rivers and mountains. In addition, accurate outline drawings of each state include an inset of the state's location on a full map of the United States. Brimming with information, this entertaining and educational coloring book is an ideal learning aid that youngsters will love using at home or in the classroom.

This is an excellent book for teachers to use. A map is shown for each state; with information on capitals, nick names, state mottos, flowers, birds, trees, main rivers and when the state came into the union. Each page also shows where the state is in the U.S. This is a great way for young students to learn about the country where they live.

For the geography teacher or student, "United States Coloring Book" is a great introduction to state study. Each page (or state) includes a border map showing the state capital and an insert which shows the state's location in the United States.

Other features of each state's coloring page are a listing of the capital (also marked on the map), flower, bird, tree (all included as items to be colored), and motto, main river, date and time admitted to the union, and any other tourist information.

This book can be used by the parent for reinforcement of things learned at school, as well as by teachers for introductory or culminating project work. Recommended.

When my homeschooled first grade daughter expressed an interest in learning about different states, I bought this as an activity/companion book to go with the unit we put together. It's a very clean, clear coloring book displaying each state outline with major rivers and capitols clearly marked. It also features the state bird, flower, tree and a couple landmarks to color on each page along with each state's basic information including date of induction into the Union. A great coloring book for fun and for educational purposes!

My five year old son really enjoys this coloring book. He loved learning the different facts about each state and sometimes he even sits for a while to soak in everything on the page before choosing what color a state should be. I definitely recommend it!

I bought this for my First and Third Grade homeschoolers to use for geography. I love this! Simple enough for them but they are learning. It includes some information for each state, the motto, the bird, the capital. I am trying to review the capitals each day. Sometimes we look the bird up online so they can color it accurately. Inexpensive, too.
