4.0 out of 5 stars Great Reference or Coffee Table book
Any patch collector will love this book. All patches are broken down by division, regiments, battallion...etc so this can be an easy one stop reference. If you're a collector of patches or just a military history buff this book is for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars False advertisment
Title advertises "over 3,100 color patches and tabs covering:....U.S. Air Force....
Wrong! There is a small chapter dealing with the Army Air Force (WWII), but not the U.S. Air Force. This book is almost entirely about U.S. Army and Marine Corps patches.

There are over 100 patches and tabs used by the U.S. Air Force past and present, and NONE are included...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great book on US Military Patches, September 28, 2005
A great book showing and impressive number of patches but also of tabs. It depicts a large number of variants and some inverted designs for combat veterans (righ shoulder). No classification by era (WWII, Vietnam, etc.) but by army, corps, division and arms (including some battalion patches). The book is principally on Army units with 6 pages on USMC units, and 2 about the Navy.

Rangers tabs and SF flashes are well depicted (no airborne flash). A good part on Army Aviation (8 pages).

A great reference for patches collectors showing a large number of patches I don't see elsewhere.

Great book packed with some super images of US Military Patches. The only problem is the binding glue failed and the pages are falling out. I wish I would have bought the HC.

There are over 100 patches and tabs used by the U.S. Air Force past and present, and NONE are included in this book! The main reason I purchased it was for the histories of the Air Force patches. I am disappointed in amazon.com in allowing this false/misleading advertising on this book. Tim Burgess

4.0 out of 5 stars Patches patches and more patches, May 28, 2010

My father is a WWII patch collector, so I got him this guide as a gift after seeing it at the Viet Nam Travelling memorial in another collectors stack of books. It replaced his old one that is no longer in print anywhere and has even upgraded his information a little bit.

Now, if I could just get him on the computer more so he can read his emails....

I had nearly 300 patches from WWII and Korean War and Viet Nam and I used this book to identify nearly all of them. Sold all of the patches on eBay for over $2000. Thanks
