Thousands of miles wide, thousands of miles long, seeing America is not an easy thing to do. "United States on the Road" is a guide for those who want to fully embrace all of what America has to offer with its wide open roads and many sights and sounds. With information on being prepared for America's unique regional cultures, planning a path through the country, and creating an itinerary and sticking to it, "United States on the Road" is a top pick not to be missed for readers who want to see everything the country has to offer.

Prepare to get caught up in the beautiful pictures and trip details as you read through this HUGE book. Start off your reading with a little American and transportation history. Take a little trip down history lane on Route 66. Whether you decide to take the Atlantic Route (from New York to Miami), the Northern Route (from Boston to the Seattle), the Central Route (from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles), the Southern Route (from Atlanta to San Diego), or the Pacific Route (from San Diego to Seattle), you will find great travel tips, gorgeous pictures, fantastic attraction information/recommendations, and everything you need to prepare for a great road trip.

Not going on a road trip anytime soon? Not a problem. USA on the Road would be an excellent resource for geography or history classes. The pictures and local culture information make this book a great one to add to your home or classroom library.

We thoroughly enjoyed making our way through this book and look forward to getting lots of use out of it in the future. Road Trip!!!!

Educators should consider using this guide book in a college class on American History. Not only would every student receive an A+ for the course, but each one would change their major to American History.

Wow! This book is chock-full of stunning color photography that captures the heart and soul of a diverse nation. In addition, the writers at Insight Guides were able to connect the reader with the local people and their land in a way that brings everything to life. It's as if I had known many of the book's characters for years. Real people! Real living! The real deal!

I heartily recommend an investment in this treasure trove of true Americana. You will be inspired, informed and better prepared to travel throughout the USA than ever before. Jump in your little red Corvette to begin that magical, mystical road tour today! See you along the way at the burger & fries diner joint. By the by, add a thick chocolate shake to that order!
