I bought this cable thinking I was getting the ability to use progressive scan on my Gamecube. Turns out that whoever designed this cable forgot to test it before claiming Cube support.
It sends analog video, that is what is essentially s-video, via the component cable. What you end up seeing on your TV is black and white and grainy. The system is unusable with this cable. My guess is the performance is just as poor for the X-Box and PS2, so stay far, far away from this shoddy product.

I ordered this product only a day or two before Stephen posted his comment. I just received the cable and he is certainly correct; this cable does not support the digital component output of the older model gamecubes. The only compatible plug actually plugs into the gamecube's analog video output slot. This product is a total misrepresentation.

Attention! For Game Cube and N64 this cable does NOT work as component video. It's just a regular AV cable.
