Anything out of Deron Millers head is Genius,

I just got to listen to this album for the first time and I can't explain how much love to hear something new that comes from Deron and Jess. True, I am bias because I think that CKY is best band out there today worth listening to, (unless you like listening to the force fed emo/metalcore crap). Deron's riffs make me think of horror/space-sci-fi and its like nothing you'll ever hear. Do your self a favor and throw away your crappy CDs and buy CKY vol. 1, CKY IDR, CKY An Answer Can Be Found and Foreign Objects. Listen and learn.

First off if your any fan of foreign objects you need to buy this now. This album is amazing. Deron,Jess, and James really outdid themselves on this. It's also really cool to hear the FO classics from The Undiscovered Numbers and Colors remastered with better sound quality. Buy this now if you like rock n' roll music.

Ok, all CKY fans will know that this album has been long awaited and finally (drum roll please) here it is. First off...FO sounds nothing like CKY, the vocals are death-y and the riffs are much more complex in my opinion. But for me this is fantastic - everytime you listen you hear something new.
Listening to this the first time was amazing, it was EVERYTHING I expected and more. Hearing previous instrumentals with the added death metal style vocals, which Deron Miller does amazingly well was mind blowing. Disengage the Simlulator (a CKY classic) takes a while to click in, as the vocals are so different but after a few spins it sounds perfect. Add in James Murphy (Death) and it just gets better and amazing timing from Jess Margera. Everything about these CD's is great - and the enhancement (while not of amazing quality) is good to see. The package is great too, and looks very well designed. I could go on and on about this release for possibly weeks but I could never do it justice in words. You must buy it!

Very Good,
This review is from: Universal Culture Shock/Undiscovered Numbers & Colors (Audio CD)
I've been a fan of Foreign Objects for a couple years now, so most of you can understand why I like The Undiscovered Numbers & Colors E.P. better than Universal Culture Shock, but I still love Universal Culture Shock, most notable songs are Test It Out (Testing For Life On Mars) and Chemical Control (Sci-Fi Mirage), alot of the UCS songs were leaked over the internet or by way of cKy: Volume 2, but just in instrumental form, and thats why I was so glad to see that Deron was going through and doing Vocals for the instrumentals, and second of all have James Murphy (Testament, Obituary) solo, so this album could finally be finished after like 8 years (around that). But anyway this is an excellent combo, UCS and TUNAC, buy it!!!
P.S. If your a fan of anything Deron, and are into kind of more Thrashy Metal/Rock check out Third Hand Fact by This End Up, which was one of his bands when he was younger. Deron does Vocals and Guitar.

This dual disc collection is great for any fan of CKY. The music is darker and heavier. If you ave heard the song called Disengage the Simulator by CKY and if you heard the Instumental on CKY VOLUME 2 called Disengage then you have to hear this version. the lyrics is a little different and it is well u just have to ear it. Dont listen to the samples on amazon b/c some of the songs are out of place.
The instrumentals are very good. ans the sog Thy Come in Peace is also very good. The ep is o.k. but it comes w/ a ive show you have to use for the computer. If you havent noticed, every cd cky or the members put out (im not sure about rudy and blitz b/c i dont have t yet) there are music videos or something on the cd that you can put in the computer. this is all of cky's except volume 2.

Awesome C.D.,

This album is amazing. The guitarwork is awesome, the drumming is excellent. It doesn't sound anything like CKY, but you'll be allright because this album is awesome. Disengage the Simulator, Test It Out, and Big Boy are my personal favorites. It's really good and if you like CKY, buy this and help support the band members. BUY IT NOW!

absolutely incredible,
This review is from: Universal Culture Shock/Undiscovered Numbers & Colors (Audio CD)
ok....i ordered from amazon last wednesday...and it arrived today, 6 days from usa to uk, which is great! i arrived at school and opened my parcel with the universal culture shock/tunac cd set.
i found a pc and settled down.....ready to be blown away. first i read the descriptions of foreign objects etc from deron's and jess's eyes. these were very interesting! after 10 or so minutes, i slotted in the culture shock cd and was astonished. it was amazing....best cd i have ever heard, apart from the cky cd's, even though i prefer foreign objects. combined musicians....deron miller, jess margera and the newly joined james murphy have created a mind blowing cd. deron's riffs are superb, james's solos are crazy, and jess's beats are incredible, all adding up to perfection! i reccomend this cd to foreign objects/cky/death metal/metal fans, it is one hell of a cd, and will be loved by many people, but hurry if you want one, only 2,500 made!!! Tom.

Solid Work,

Very cool to finally have this out. The guitar and drum arrangements are great, the vocals are stellar, the production stays as clean as possible, and the packaging is stunning. Just a great CD with very few flaws (I think the different recording formats gave the guitar solos from James Murphy a lower-quality sound).
I've always been a big fan of The Undiscovered Numbers & Colors, and this remaster from Howie Weinberg really gives it quite a punch. Both releases are solid as a rock, making for a great listening experience. Please check this out if you are even thinking about looking into Foreign Objects.

10 Years Later,

I have listened to this CD everyday since I got it last Monday. I wanted time to listen to every track, analyze production, the riffs, the sound, the lyrics, the overall package, etc. I read the liner notes, engulfing the history behind the band, the songs, and why this album is years in the making.
When I got this CD, I was on the way out across the state, so I got it out of the mailbox before I left. After listening to the CD from start to finish as much as possible, before I knew it 3 hours had passed and I was home and don't really recall being out doing whatever I was doing. Even when not listening to the CD, it was still playing through my head. I am hooked. I have waited a long time, as many have, to hear most of these songs in final form, after listening to VHS rips from the CKY videos and demos from Volume 2 for the last 3 or 4 years now. Some of the tracks had vocals added to them, and the one that threw me off the most was Disengage the Simulator, which rules in either its Foreign Objects version, or CKY version. At first the vocals did not sit right with me, but after a few listens it clicked. Thats probably the only track that took time to get used to, after you've heard DTS the same way so many times before. Making an appearance on lead guitar is legendary James Murphy, who really adds his unique flavor to the tracks most notably for me on "Universal Culture Shock", and "They Come in Peace". It is, quite simply, amazing. At first I wasn't so sure about the changes to these songs. I thought they were already perfect, and didn't want to see any change to them. Now, I have been convinced otherwise. I have all forms of these songs to enjoy, the demos, instrumentals, and finished versions. This project shows off Deron Millers prowess on the guitar with compositions he has had since 1994/1995 while he was still in high school. Sheer genius are behind these tracks, but if you're a CKY fan, should already know that. A complete space sci-fi themed album, and a damn cool one at that. -Kevin

I'm a huge fan of CKY. However, CKY album's always have only about 4 songs that are just absolutely amazing, then the rest just simply don't say much. They sound a bit drab. Aside from that though, I still love the message of CKY and the CKY alliance and support everything CKY when I can.
In the case of this record, everything is just so off the wall that nothing ever becomes drab and every single song is a trip on it's own. If you haven't heard any of these songs and you like CKY just buy it. Don't download anything before hand. Just get the CD and pop it in you stereo and you'll be blown off your ass so fast with the opener "Testing" (An incredible song) and taken on a trip through this scifi extreme death metal until you reach the finale song "Victory Over Neptune" (Which brings beautiful closure). After that, there's the bonus track "Big Boy" which is also pretty badass but I feel kind of ruins the closure of "Victory". Just get this album or you'll be left out of one of the best records in years. I have one minor complaint though. The original version of "Genesis 12/A" was just better in my opinion. The new version loses the intensity of the guitars and the best part of the song gets overshadowed by the solo and Deron's vocals. So I suggest you buy CKY Vol. 2 so you can get that song and other old versions of these songs when they were just instrumentals. |
