About the Author

Yael Danieli, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in private practice, a victimologist, a traumatologist, and Director of the Group Project for Holocaust Survivors and their Children, Past President and United Nations Representative of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.

Elsa Stamatopoulou is Deputy to the Director, New York Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. She has been with the UN since 1979, seventeen years in the human rights area.

Clarence J. Dias is the President of the International Center for Law in Development, which is a Third World NGO concerned with human rights in the development process.
