Useful gadget,

I bought this adapter to charge my digital camera in Poland. This adapter was fairly easy to use and convert plugs as needed. It's great that it goes both ways, for example if I wanted to use a European appliance in the US. I used it a few times with no problems.Just make sure what you need is an adapter and not converter. This product will not convert voltage. Many battery chargers (cameras, laptops, etc) already convert voltage so all you need is an adapter. Just check the printed label on the cord.

Very handy for travelling to various places.Does everything advertised. Just be careful to not use with items requiring more than the rated wattage, nor for items not equipped for the local voltage (autotransformer, dual voltage switch, etc.). If your item is intended for the local voltage and you only need plug configuration, this is the best item I've come across for low wattage items. (Laptop, cellphone, GPS, etc.)

Only used the Euro settings on this. The main problem was that the bulk of the adapter and the fact that it did not securely fit into the circle-shaped outlet meant that it would not remain stable once it was plugged into the outlet. We found that we had to use shims made of folded strips of paper to wedge in between the adapter and the outlet in order to get the plug prongs to maintain their contact, and had to spend 5-10 minutes adjusting the position before we could get it to work. This was not a one-time occurrence: we had to do this every time we wanted to use the adapter in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and Poland. It worked, but barely did its job.

I picked this up before our trip to Europe, and the device did function as advertised. Essentially, it could convert between all the major power outlet types in Europe, and did so in a lightweight and compact form factor. The problem with it, though, is that the adapter prongs had trouble locking in place, so that when you tried inserting it into a wall socket that had a bit of resistance, the lock would release and it would collapse back inside of its case. I had to hold down the extension tab to reinforce the prongs when inserting them into a lot of sockets, and even then they'd still collapse or break the circuit so my laptop would unknowingly start running on battery power. That said, it still worked better than the adapters my family used, so when I flew home I gave this device to them, and they were happy.

Fuse is hard to find,
This review is from: Universal International Travel Power Plug Adapter - 110V - max. 275W and 220V.. (Electronics)
I have had this adapter for a couple of years and have used it successfully many times. However, on my most recent trip, I found that none of my electronic devices were charging when connected to the adapter. With no multimeter on hand, I couldn't determine that the fuse was bad. Once I got home, I checked the fuse with the meter and found that it was in fact bad.I figured that the fuse would be easily found at Home Depot, Lowes or Radio Shack, but this is not the case. I'm still looking for a replacement fuse if anyone has a link.

I am a software consultant and my job takes me around the world. Looks like this is the perfect handy little thing that I needed, while traveling. With the increasing number of gadgets and wires, this 1 plug meets all my connectivity needs. I've used it in several countries and no complaints so far. The plug looks good, not too bulky. Great buy for the price. Definitely recommend.

It does everything it is supposed to, nothing more, nothing less. Construction seems to be pretty good. I am buying another!

The notches for the Hong Kong power plug was blocked off with plastic. This was a big upset, the other ones are fine though. It was not worth it to ship back to the supplier and get a refund because it would have cost me another $2.50 for shipping when the adapter was $4.50. I was very disappointed since there were good reviews on the product and the fact that Amazon has a hands-off approach to their supplier issues. Buyer beware!

I took this with me to Africa and realized after I got there that I could not use it for my laptop cord, which has a three-pronged plug. The adapter can only fit two-pronged US devices. I used the adapter once or twice for other things, but it just quit working after that.

From the moment I plugged it in Italy on my vacation NOTHING! It never worked. I kept trying everyday. At least the Euro prongs didn't work. I was very disappointed. I was unable to use my iron or plug my phone in. Very disappointed. I gave a 1 star only because I couldn't post without selecting something. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given it any stars.
