5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, magical book, October 18, 1997

All drawings are clear and superbly illustrated. I use this to teach design and the students love it. It is a very stimulating piece of work which is worth every penny.

I used this book throughout my degree which was in art and maths. It was superb and very easy to read or just scan through. I would recommend it to anybody interested in these subjects, especially people who are facinated with the links between maths and art. Well worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally bought my own copy!, June 7, 2010
By
Artist Minaz Jantz (Nova Scotia Canada) - See all my reviews
I have signed out from my public library a few books written by this crew and finally bought the book Universal Patterns. I have spent some pockets of time to dedicate to some of the exercises they put forth to build competency in using the variety of Golden rules. Its much like solving puzzles and eventually I get to create some fun art works. Generally I work in art mediums such as pastel and oil paint but always turn to their books to challenge myself with pencils, drafting tools and their lessons with creative solutions. This is the most excellent book for learning about Golden relationships and 'how to do' but you do need to know how to use drafting tools before hand![...]
