Based off of the somewhat positive ratings for this item I purchased the brackets for wall mounting my speakers. My speakers are right around seven pounds, so I figured these should work. As others have mentioned the drywall anchors are very sub-standard for the product. The brackets are 100% plastic and there are set screws to tighten the joints, but all the joints are smooth on smooth so tighten away, but as soon as you let go they will move however they feel. There is not even a positive position interlock in the elbow even! These would work great for very small light weight (<2 lbs probably) speakers, but nothing near the eight pound limit. Don't normally post reviews, but dang these suck and I was so hoping to get my system up this weekend! What a let down. 15% restocking fee to return plus additional shipping costs, I might as well throw these away. If your thinking about buying these I'll give you mine.

Don't let the price fool you. Very good, sturdy brackets with enough hardware to fit most brands/wall mounts I would assume. They are holding up my Onkyo on both a wall and on the side of my entertainment unit.
I highly recommend them.

EDIT- 1 month later and I am not as pleased. Still not bad but I have had to losen/straighten speakers out. I would drop down to 4 stars at this point.

These mounts are made of a sturdy plastic, so I feel like they will work fine for the smallish HT speakers in my system. They indicate a maximum capacity of 8 lbs., and I think that accurate. There is plenty of hardware included to allow mounting on just about any type of surface.

One thing I would recommend is to consider the 6-bracket set instead of just 5 brackets, because your center channel speaker might need 2 mounting points (look before you order).

Overall, I think these are a good deal for the money.

I bought these to go along with the Takes I bought. At first I thought they wouldn't work because they didn't look too sturdy. But when I mounted them, they did just fine. I had them for about a month now and the speakers are in the same position I mounted them in. The one thing I had to do was to drill a hole near the mounting post to hide the wire

Great, simple brackets - connected my 4" cube speakers to the walls in my study - sounds great and the brackets are very easy to install. Lots of connection screws/bolts and look very neat. Simple, no nonsense items, at a great price - especially compared to the crazy prices they try to charge you in the electronics stores.

The picture for these is deceptive. I expected something a little cheaper and "plastic-y" but these are very well constructed solid mounts and I can't be more pleased with the result and at this cost! Don't hesitate with these mounts they're very easy to install with the myriad installation options given and they can support surround speakers large and small. I'm using them for my front and rear Definitive Technology satellite speakers which are solid and dense and I'd feel comfortable using them on much larger equipment.

These brackets are exactly as advertised. No nonsense plastic brackets of sound quality (no pun intended). The package has a wide array of installation items, allowing you to configure the install into a variety of surfaces, ceiling, wood studs, sheet rock etc. They're very nice quality considering the price and they allow you a vast array of adjustments to get the speakers exactly where you want them to face in the room. Installing them wasn't easy if you lack a power drill, but well worth it!

I mounted my Bose Cube speakers to these mounts and then into the wall - they look and work perfect. Even holds the center channel speaker that is around the 5lb limitation.

Only thing I would change is a system that allowes a the wires to be concealed in the mount.

I agree with all the other 5 star reviews. What I didn't see was that you can take 2 or more of the long pieces and screw them together too. That was a nice thing for me.

Like one of the other reviewers said, these brackets are a lot sturdier than they look in the pictures here. They're inexpensive but built like a tank. I would definitely buy these again. I received them super fast in the mail too. They come with all sorts of hardware like screws and dry wall fasteners. Even comes with a little allen wrench to tighten things up! Great product! Can't wait to test them out with my Onkyo speakers.
