Universal Soldier 3 isn't a sequence for the Van Damme's flick.This movie was in fact made for the television, so it's understandable the reason why most of the people who watched this hated it. A made-for-tv movie doesn't have the same budget and the resource of a major motion picture. But for those who are just looking for some fun, they may found something to like here. The action scenes are, at least, decent: gun shootings filmed in slow motion, realist scenes of martial arts' fights, and the cast try to make this B-movie into a watchable and even enjoyable picture. Matt Battaglia was great when he starred with Burt Reynolds in the action/suspense thriller Raven (also available in Amazon, and a good buy), and once again he comes out well. He still has a lot to learn about interpretation, but he is on his way.Burt Reynolds is terrific as The Mentor, the cruel man behind the Universal Soldier's project, and he delivers his job with such talent that he actually steals the whole movie from the main star, Battaglia. In a supporting role, Reynolds maintain the few good aspects of the motion picture together, with a powerful presence in the screen. The storyline is interesting, about Mattaglia's character, a universal soldier who searchs for his creator (The Mentor) in order to set scores. The movie also counts with a strong visual, good soundtrack and a perfect timing, developing the situations in a way that you will understand what's going on. A good buy from Amazon, for sure, I also suggest Raven , another decent action picture, a little better than Universal Soldier 3.

Universal Soldier 3 Unfinished Business is a DTV sequel to Universal Soldier Brothers in Arms 1998 & Universal Soldier 1992 it stars Matt Battagila as Luc Deverux Chandra West as Veronica Robert Jeff Wincott as Eric Deverux/GR87 Burt Reynolds as Mentor/CIA Director Gerold Resco. Story right after Universal Soldier BIA Luc & Veronica have buried his brother Eric but the UNI SOL program have cloned Eric so Veronica is going to a CNA party in Canada cause her ex boyfriend owns CNA & he can clear her name the party is taken over by terrorists Luc goes in & cleans house saves Veronica. Luc wants to see if his parents are alright they don't answer the phone the house has been destroyed they've been killed. They need to go find the man who created the Universal Soldiers Dr. McGregory he had his memory cleared by the UNI SOL program in the hospital we actually get some decent action. Luc eventually finds out who the guy is running the UNI SOL program Mentor the CIA director Gerold Resco. So Luc wants to get Resco.

I was kinda wondering why the original cast weren't in part 2 or 3, but the new storyline got better and I also liked it because Jeff Wincott was in it. All of Jeff Wincott's movies gotta be good, so I rented it and found out it was.

"UNIVERSAL SOLDIER" WAS A WORLD-WIDE SMASH HIT,GROSSING OVER 100 MILLION DOLLARS WORLDWIDE,IT MAKES ME ASK,"WHY WOULD TWO SEQUELS TO "UNIVERSAL SOLDIER" COME OUT 6 YEARS LATER AND BE BACK TO BACK DIRECT-TO-VIDEO?".I SOON FOUND OUT THE ANSWER WHEN PURCHASING THIS VIDEO. THIS CHEAP EXCUSE FOR A FILM HAS ALMOST NO PLOT,NONE OF THE ORIGINAL STARS IN IT,THE ACTOR'S THAT TAKE THE PLACE OF THE ORIGINAL ACTOR'S LOOK NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE ORIGINAL ACTOR'S,IT CLEARLY HAD A VERY LOW BUDGET,AND APPEARS TO BE SHOT BACK TO BACK WITH THE SECOND "UNIVERSAL SOLDIER" BECAUSE ALL OF THE CREDIT'S (EXCLUDING THE ACTOR'S)ON THE COVER OF 2 AND 3 ARE THE SAME. ALSO,BURT REYNOLDS MUST BE PRETTY DESPERATE FOR AN ACTING ROLE THESE DAYS TO STOOP DOWN TO A DIRECT TO VIDEO CHEAPIE TRYING TO CASH IN ON THE SUCESS OF THE ORIGINAL.BUT OTHER THAN THAT, THE FILM IS GOOD IF YOUR LOOKING FOR SENSELESS VIOLENCE AND POOR ACTING.
