Could use some clearer instructions as to how to assemble the thing (and I'm an ASE certified car tech, so yeah...) but once you figure out how the plates face, it gets easier. Helps to have 2 people as well. I have not had it long enough to say anything about noise or loosening from road vibration, but if it does, I'm sure some blue Loctite will take care of that. I will have to modify it to close the gaps between the sides and top near the back windows of our SUV (1999 Blazer 4 dr.) because we are using this for a cat, not a dog, and he can fit thru the gaps there.

This is not a bad product, but it needs significant modification in order to work well for us. There's a couple issues Kennel-Aire could address, but here's what I found and how I fixed the issues.

FASTENERS - The brackect/bolt fasteners that it comes with worked okay when I first set it up, but when I reinstalled the barrier after taking it down to use the cargo area, I found these things constantly wanted to slip through the wire mesh and fall off or fall apart altogether. I switched to using zip ties instead, which seemed to add more strength and stability as well as taking care of most of the rattling. The zip ties also provide better visibility over the stock fasteners too.

RATTLING - The barrier may rattle a bit on some bumpy roads whenever you encounter vibrations, but it's typically not bad for normal day-to-day driving. The some extra zip ties to hold the separate pieces together seems to have greatly minimized the rattling.

STABILITY - Worked well the first time around, but when I reinstalled it, it just didn't want to hold up and my dog managed to take it down several times. Part of this was due in large part to the fasteners. Another issue was that the dog would pull the top back or push the bottom forward, which would in turn drop in into a gap behind the rear seats. I fixed this issue by putting a 4x4 behind the legs and ziptying it in place and added a pair of bungie cords to hold it tight against the head rest. It's not going anywhere now.

EDGES - The corners and edges tend to scratch the plastic trim around the wheel well. Same with the bottom legs (which inevitably lose their protective covers). A little

The unit is advertised as able to fit in all SUVs and vans and even repeats that on the box. However, it does not fit our 2005 Yukon SLT. In addition, my husband commented that it is not very hefty--flimsy was his actual word. I returned it for a refund but mistakenly chose the wrong reason (didn't fit) so am being charged for return shipping. All around, not a good experience.
