Universal 10 cup stainless steel carafe.

Since I seem to break glass carafes with frustrating frequency, I thought a stainless steel one would make my life easier. Unfortunately, this one isn't made very well. It leaks where the handle is attached, which means you will get coffee all over the counter, making a big mess to clean up. I wasted my money, hopefully you won't waste yours.

It's your basic Chinese, thin-walled, functional steel pot. Think: one click above food-grade bimetal can, shaped exactly like the glass carafe you just broke. What did I expect? Well, the walls of the carafe could have been just a bit thicker. You can almost slice yourself on the top edge.
And yet, we've used the darned thing every day for the past six months or so, and so far, its handle has held up well, staying attached to the body with no embrittlement or warping from heat. The lid attaches to the plastic handle in a not-too-balky way, so that you can remove it easily for washing. And it's never, ever going to shatter, not even when you fumble it one morning and drop it into the sink.
Considering that it was probably made for a fraction of a dollar in some Chinese hell-hole, it is doubtless overpriced, but this was the best my search turned up short of buying a new coffee machine with a real double-walled carafe.

This item is a direct replacement for our old glass carafe. It fits perfectly and now hopefully we won't have any more broken glass. Well made. Cup marks are more difficult to see than with the glass carafe but other than that it is a good choice.

Great product so far, and we have had it for about 6 months. Wife kept breaking the glass carafes, as we have a metal sink, so this one is perfect. Looks great with our other chrome appliances as well. Recommended.

I too hoped that this would fix the problem of breaking carafes. Unfortunately, this one pours so badly that most of the coffee spills all over the counter. After I finish writing this I will be ordering a new glass carafe.

Ok you get up in the morning wanting your coffee and DRAT! the coffe pot is cracked from all the use......well no more!

I had that happen to me a few days ago. I am so sick of cheap, thin little pots that I decided to never go through this again. I ordered the steel pot and it is great.

All one piece steel that won't break.
The only downside is...you can't see how much coffe is left in the pot.

If your like me...you solve that little problem by re-filling your mug until there is no coffe left......works for me.

Worth the money on saved aggravation alone.

We broke our glass coffee carafes both at home and at work. This stainless steel carafe was just the ticket as a replacement. At home, we have a Gevalia coffeemaker and at work, it's a Braun. The carafes don't fit as perfectly as their glass counterparts, but they work just fine. Plus, we don't worry about broken coffee carafes in the future.

I ordered this after my father in law put my glass Braun coffee pot on our gas stove top to warm up his coffee! Ugh, needless to say that was the end of that little bugger. Now if he want's to pull that trick again he'll only burn plastic, not break glass. This pot is attractive to look at, sturdy and easy to use. The only problem is you can't see how much coffee is there without looking inside it. This hasn't been a big issue though. Nice pot, hopefully will never break.

stainless steel and indestructable - a great replacement for my original glass carafe that didn't last long. Fits my braun coffee maker perfectly.
