5.0 out of 5 stars Riddle the Riddler, February 16, 2011
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: DC Universe Classics Riddler Action Figure (Toy)
Edward Nigma decided he wanted to test his wits against law enforcement and Batman so became the Riddler. He commits crimes and leaves clues behind. The Riddler has been just a joke at times and a serious villain at others and has had a few costume changes over the years. This DC Universe Classics Wave 16 version is the classic tight question mark outfit.

There is a surprisingly good sculpt here. He is on a muscular body which actually looks cool - like you really wouldn't mess with this guy even if he is just the Riddler. One hand is a fist and the other made to hold his cane. The standout work is the head though. His face is great with lots of detail with a furrowed brow and smirk on his face. He wears his domino mask and the hair looks good - thick but slightly receded.

His color scheme is green, purple and black. Again, it's surprising how good it actually looks. The green is bright so makes him pop and the several black question marks are crisp and clean. His mask, gloves and belt are purple and the belt has a cleanly painted gold buckle.

His articulation is robust with a ball neck, ball and pin shoulders/biceps, pin elbows and cut wrists. He does have the ab crunch joint and does have the waist cut; however, the waist is restricted by the belt that covers the joint so he can only turn slightly there. Rounding him out are universal hips, pin knees, cut thighs and pin ankles.

He has his piece of collect and connect figure Bane. Additionally he has his golden question mark cane that fits in his hand fine and looks good.

He's a surprise for me as again - he is only the Riddler. But he's got a great classic design an impressive head sculpt and visually pops making him a simple yet effective figure. I give him 5 stars.

Bane is the tactical genius and venom user who broke Batman's back. As simplistic as his design is they somehow managed to make this a great figure. The sculpt is amazing with little details like the eyelets, stitching and bottoms on his boots, and like the zipper on his mask all hiding in there. His massive chest and arms look great as does the skin tone used. And speaking of the paint it's simple yet effective as well. The boots are a cool high gloss, the gloves more detailed than I thought they'd be and the mask looks perfect. Even his venom dispenser and tubing looks great. He's also as articulated as the smaller figures although some of the joints may differ. Bane is not as hulking as some recent C and C's but still huge - about 8 inches - in comparison to the regular figures. He's a surprising 5 star figure for me.

He's awesome, he has multiple points of articulatin, he's one of the best riddler action figures I've seen before deciding on which one to buy, all the other ones are too skinny and no match against batman.
