This review is from: DC Universe World's Greatest Superheroes Lex Luthor Figure (Toy)
I bought one for display and sent one to my safe deposit for collection later.(typical Luthor attitude;) I don't know why he wore that purple utility shirt and bandoleer in "Challenge of the Superfriends" but this is a perfect likeness to the cartoon from the late '70s/ Great price, take advantage before it skyrockets(new movies will be coming out soon).(Stan Jones voice in my head) "Before the price goes to the far side of the galaxy, I must make another purchase!!!"

This review is from: DC Universe World's Greatest Superheroes Lex Luthor Figure (Toy)
I have been working to collect all of these awesome Mego-inspired DC Retro-Action figures, and the latest in my collection is the prime Superman villain Lex Luthor. This is modeled after the Silver Age Lex Luthor when he wore a purple and green jumpsuit (which would later be transformed into battle armor during the `80s). The Silver Age look is iconic and familiar mostly due to this being Luthor's costume in the Super Friends! TV shows. The figure looks great. Luthor's head and costume are spot on, and the size is exactly like the original Mego line. I have a large collection of Megos, and Lex Luthor sits in the collection looking exactly as if he had been made during the `70s run. Like all of the Retro Action line, Lex Luthor isn't the most posable figure. They tried to preserve the rubber-band construction of the Mego line, which means the legs are loose and difficult to stand on. The top half has the standard ball-and-socket articulation of modern toys though. While most of the Retro-Action line don't come with accessories, Luthor comes with a chunk of Kryptonite that he can use to battle Superman. Unfortunately, the Kryptonite won't actually fit into Luthor's fixed grip. I am always disappointed when figures come with accessories that they can't actually hold.
