This is the perfect game for boys (and girls) it is my boys (ages 7-10) favorite game and they spend actual time together playing... that makes it #1 in my mind and a perfect gift for any child in your life.

My sons received this game as a gift, and played it with my husband today. My sons are 9 and 6, and most of the questions were way too hard for either of them, even though my 6 year old reads the encyclopedia for pleasure. Sample question: recite up to ten lines of Hamlet's famous soliloquy. Seriously! Do you know any 8 year old boys who can do that, let alone most adults? I only know a couple of lines myself, and I was an English major! There were questions about constellations that required being able to draw constellations, which my boys couldn't do either (draw Orion, with the correct star placement. I only know his belt!). Some of the questions were things that they could learn as they go -- knot tying, tie tying, etc., but many I wouldn't expect a boy to know until high school at least, so I may make this game disapper for several years!
My younger son does enjoy practicing knot tying with the rope that came with the game, and if your children know their constellations it might be more fun for them!

I was very excited to get this game to play with my son but after playing it one time I was extremely disappointed. The game expects boys to know ball room dances, astrological signs, other languages. It also expects boys to know every kind of knot the world has ever seen. I was hoping the game would teach the boys how to tie knots but in this game if you don't already know how to do it, it is almost impossible to learn it from the game. The game play is not exciting and the method of keeping score is VERY hard to keep track of. They give you bugs that must go along a path 1/4 the size of the bug, so it is easy to lose track of which little spot you were actually sitting on. I was really hoping to find a game my son and I could enjoy that would sort of be a way to learn things one would learn in boy scouts, this game is not that at all.
