In this game you have multiple-choice questions that deal with many situations you might actually encounter and also the most unheard of, extreme and dire "scenarios". It's fun especially when you haven't a clue because you must try to apply logic and eliminate the most preposterous answers. So often, though the right answer is the most ridiculous sounding one, and there's a lot of hilarity. I've played this game at family get-togethers and other gatherings and it has never failed to engage and intrigue everyone involved. We took it over to our friends' house and our two families played it. Next time they begged us to bring it and then the next time they had bought it themselves. One warning: If you are playing the game with children, (my daughter age 10 loves it) you might want to go through and take out the question about treatment for gout in men. The content of that one was inappropriate. Incidentally, my guess is there's about 500 questions on half as many cards. (The cards have questions and answers on each side)

...During the course of several games, we came across numerous questions whose answers were wrong -- for instance: How to breathe during a skydiving freefall? Long deep breaths, short sharp breaths? Neither! The "correct" answer was DO NOT breathe at all, as you will "breathe" through your skin!! Since when can humans breathe through the skin? Virtually all the driving questions were faulty, and none stipulated automatic vs. manual transmission for questions to which the answers are different depending on that fact. They did well the write in such a hard-clad disclaimer in the event of injury, as the questions we found with wrong answers were all more or less of a life-or-death nature. Except the UFO one. More often, however, we'd find questions where none of the three proffered answers was quite right, though two or three would have an element of truth. If they reissue the game, i would suggest two things: first, re-word the questions to account for point-of-view, as in "According to (name of authority), the way to avoid a UFO is..." Secondly, I'd cite, in small print at the bottom of the card, the source for the information.

I am a game collector, I have lots of them and love playing them. This is the worst game ever. Not only are most of the card question and answers stupid, but there are some that are plain wrong. Out of the small box of questions, (Dont let the size of the game fool you. It is mostly empty.) I found about 20 of them that seemes like fun questions. The rest were stupid. Like, "How do you keep from being abducted by an alien?" It is not a joke, it is serious! Dont waste your money. Unfortunatly the place where I bought it wouldn't let me return an opened game. That is the only reason I still have it. If you must buy it, buy mine, I don't want it!

This has to be one of the worst games I have ever played. I was so bored, it was sad. My husband kept pointing this game out in stores, so it ended up being a Christmas present. We played it Christmas day and about two days later, we gave it away to a friend of mine who has four teenage and younger boys who MIGHT find it interesting (but probably not). Dumb questions, wrong answers, etc. All the reviews are dead-on. Yes, you can learn from the game, but what??? One of the questions is about how to skin a hide. I'm not going to do that. Are you? And the review about the game being deceptive in size is exactly right. You're talking about a game that you can read the instructions in about one minute and completely understand what to do. Why? Because I'm going to read a question and give three multiple choice answers for you to choose from. The multiple choice answers are so long sometimes that by the time you finish the third one, you have no idea what the first one was, let alone the question. And if you get it right, you are literally going to do nothing more than move your play piece along footprints on a game board toward the finish line. That's it. We love games, have a complete game closet, play with our parents and friends all the time, etc. Trust us... save your money.

The questions and answers for this game are horrible. An example question, the one that finally made us pack up the game, asked something along the lines of:How do you keep someone from choking on their tongue? The 'correct' answer was to stick a needle or wire through the choking persons tongue and tie the wire to their shirt button. Gimme a break! In addition, as other's have mentioned, the board is very boring. A couple of the questions were slightly amusing, but most of them were just dumb. I love games of all types but this game was pretty oogy.

It seems like a fun game with interesting questions, but I found that I was very unhappy with the cards in the game. Let me explain...When you play Trivial Pursuit, part of the fun is when you are reading off the question to your opponent, that in your mind you try to think of what the answer would be. You flip the card and then you see the answer and think, "oh I was right" or "oh I was wrong" or "oh they will never get this". But with the Scenario Game, the card posts the question and three multiple choice answers all on one side. The correct answer is in bold. Now this is no fun to read the question, because you immediatley know the answer as you read it. There's no guessing for the question asker. Plus the board itself is a very boring start to finish game. Board games are much more interesting when you have to travel around the board many times.

Although we got this game months ago as a gift, we just played it last weekend. I usually never write reviews, however, after reading the other reviews for this game on this site, I felt compelled to write one myself. Some of the reviews mention that some of the answers are wrong. Perhaps you THINK they are wrong because you have been hearing the wrong info. for so many years. In fact, I was surprised at some of the answers, however, when I looked them up on medical and other credible web sites, I found that the answers in the game are correct---with today's most updated information. On top of it, the game if fun and really gets the conversation flowing. Give it a try. You'll have fun and you will learn a lot of useful info.

We got this game for our eight-year-old son and played it with him and his 9-year-old friend. The concept of the game is very simple - counters move around the board by correctly guessing the answer to a 'worst case scenario' question. The questions were difficult for the children. Some of the words were hard to read and the situations difficult to answer for children of this age group with their limited life experience. The most glaring problem, however, was the justification as to why that was the correct answer. Nowhere was that given. This would have given the game a much more interesting spin and made the trip round the board that much more worthwhile. It did give rise to some discussion but the answers were so esoteric that after a while we just gave up. We never did finish the game.

My husband, kids and I like to play board games, but I can hardly qualify this disaster as a "game". It's simply a race to get from the start of the board to the finish line by answering some pretty lackluster questions. I also have my doubts about the accuracy of some of the answers. There's no strategy involved, no sense of competitiveness, no fun. When we finished playing, we were relieved to be done. We've never played this game again. It sits in the closet. Why waste your time and money on on this when there are so many other fun games that challenge your intellect and your oppponent?

This game was fun and entertaining! I played it at home with my friend and her two boys the first day I bought it and we enjoyed playing in teams and making our survival choices! I teach remedial reading and the students I have enjoyed it also. It is simple to play and involves thinking and luck! I liked it because the students not only had to read it, but the other team players had to visulaize what was being read to them! They also learned some new vocabulary words!Granted, not all the cards asked questions about how to survive, but if you are light-hearted, you can enjoy the game and learn some things too! I think this would be a great family or classroom game that would entertain people of all ages! |
