University Games Murder Mystery Party Game - Murder on Misty Island

I think anyone putting on a mystery dinner for the first time would have fun with this game. However, this is our second mystery dinner and my friends and I are all theater people. So we found this game very scripted and some of the information presented throughout the game was never resolved. Some information was misleading and had no purpose for the game and I don't think the point was to throw everyone off. Some participants will be able to figure out who did it, figuring out how may be complicated since there are gaps in the story, as mentioned before. We made this into a luau, put a nice suit on a dummy with a wig & placed it face down in the grass, bought a cheap fog machine from Party City, and decorated the inside with sand, candles, ocean animals, cheap netting, and even bought a sunrise poster for the window. We also made the dinner a potluck to make it easier on ourselves.

If you haven't ever purchased one of these murder mystery games then you don't know what your missing. The game itself is just the basis for having the party. It gives you ideas for costumes, personalities, decorating ideas and the rest is up to you. I love getting friends together for these parties because every one is different.
