The future of our global economy will be in knowledge- and technology-base economic development. Remaining competitive in a global economy will require the ability to harness the research and educational resources of higher educaiton institutions. Simultaneously, state and land-grant universities are seeking to reinvent their outreach missions with a major focus on providing direct services for local and regional economic development.
