This review is from: The Unix System (International Computer Science Series) (Paperback)
This book is an excellent introduction to the UNIX command-line user interface, written by the creator of the standard command line interpreter for UNIX System 5 - the Bourne Shell. The book covers not only common shell commands, but also the use of advanced tools like awk and sed to perform more complex manipulations of textual data. The book also includes a couple of chapters to introduce the C language and UNIX software development tools.
Shell programming, of course, gets excellent coverage in this book.
