The thing only moved about 3 feet after it's first charge and then started requesting pit stops. I played along thinking the battery just needed to be cycled some before it would hold a charge, but no such luck, it came DOA. Maybe I just had a run of bad luck, but I do not recommend this product; you know something's up when you're paying less than the price of a cheap vacuum for a robotic one.Side note: the 'charging station' is pretty useless because you have to put it in the charging station yourself, the robot isn't smart enough to park itself to charge.

Does what it says, my man loves it!,

I purchased this as a Christmas gift. So far, so good. It works very well. It has some different cleaning patterns than the regular Roomba, especially a back and forth pattern that is similar to what one would do with a regular vacuum cleaner. It changes it's pattern of cleaning as it goes about doing it's thing from room to room. It doesn't go to it's charger, but that's okay; when you are done you simply turn it off and put it at it's charger station. It has a large pick up bin and a large filter. And the remote control is a great idea. My man simply loves this Trackvac. He loves watching Nascar, and suspected he was getting a radio controlled nascar or something of the sort, and stated very clearly he didn't want it, and it would just end up idle on a shelf, etc. Let me tell you, this car, (we got the Jimmy Johnson/Lowes - blue car), is not sitting idle. It cleans rugs and laminate wood floors well. It handles the transition between the kitchen floor and the rest of the carpeted house very well. The shape of the "car" is rectangular, and it works very well in getting all the debris against the walls with it's little rotating brush that flicks things out from the baseboard into the path of the "car". It goes under the sofa and chairs too. It may get stuck, but it usually will back itself out. Only rarely does it need to be rescued. To turn this car on, there is an on switch in the back. Then you selected the number of "laps" 15 or 45, (laps equal minutes), and it runs for that amount of time. It is a bit tricky learning to use the remote control, but it comes in handy if any spot needs to be vacuumed. And, it does have a bit of fun built into it, that our toddler Grandson and Grandpa love to play with. You can turn off the vacuum part and just use the remote control to drive it around. Two of the wheels are there more for decoration, and the fact that they also turn is cute. That fascinates our Grandson. : ) I have my Roomba, and he has his TrackVac, and he couldn't be more pleased! And I was very, VERY pleased with the price, especially when compared to the cost of the Roombas. |
