6" Brass Bell

I was looking for an outdoor bell to use as a door bell. Most were too expensive and not a good size. This one turned out to be perfect. One suggestion-include three wood screws for the wall plate.

Got this for work to be our 'good news bell'. First time I used it, the rope came off in my hand because it was connected to the ringer with a cheap piece of wire. A little modification and the bell can be rung with rigor. But 2 stars deducted for the embarassment of the first ring...

Pros:
-Exterior finish is well polished and free of scratches, blemishes, etc...
-Well packaged for shipment
-The rope pull is nicely done

Cons:
-Weak sound. Partly because it is only a 6" bell, but also due to thickness of material
-Included mounting bracket, but no hardware to attach bracket to wall
-Hardware used to attach rope pull to clapper, and clapper to bell, is cheaply done

Overall, I thought the price was fair for what I received. If you want a small bell that looks good and will only rarely (if ever) be rung then this should work well for you. Ours gets rung on a near daily basis (whenever we close a sale) and I would prefer something with a richer sound, even if cost a bit more.

The brass bell is what I wanted and depicted correctly in picture. The only issue is the braided rope that connect with pendulum was a simple wire ring. I changed it to a 'U' shaped stainless steel contraption. I am happy with the change and ringing away....

I was on vacations in EUA when I ordered this product, and was afraid that don't arrived at time, but everything was great. In the Amazon order, the date to deliver was about 10 days, but I received before, about 7 days.
I send an e-mail to the seller asking about the date to deliver and he was very attentious and answered all my questions. He gave me the track number and I received in my last day in US. The product is very nice, exactly what was in the site, in perfect condition. I really loved my bell.

The bell is pretty to look at but not much to hear ring. It gives out more of a dull <thunk> than a clear bell tone. However given the price, it is fine as an ornamental piece. If you intent to use this for any 'real' use, particularly nautical applications, you would be better off spending the extra for more finely made item.
