I purchased this "laptop" for my daughter and she really enjoyed it. I say enjoyed as while she played the socks off of it at first, she only plays with it occasionally now, typical kid.

We did have some problems technically getting it to work on TV, but once we had it working, it was kind of cool. My daughter, 4, really had fun with it. There are no cartridges needed to hook it up to TV, just use the cord it comes with. And you can play it without a TV but it is not as fun.

My only complaint would be there is no support offered for the product at the manufacturers web page. If anything, this lack of support has made me hesitant to purchase anything else made by Oregon Scientific. This is a simple clever toy they have created but they don't offer extra books, which I would be willing to purchase.

My daughter received this for her 5th birthday. She was very excited waiting for us to get it hooked up to the TV. That was the last time I saw excitement (or even interest) in this toy. We were never able to get it to do anything but display a type of screensaver on the TV. As others have stated, the box mentions that it comes with a cartridge but the instructions say that the cartridge is not included. This was a HUGE disappointment not only for my daughter but for my Mother as well (she bought the game and even spent the money to ship it to us). Oregon Scientific doesn't offer any type of support nor do they even mention the game on their website.

My suggestion is to stay as far away from this game (and possibly this company) as you can. This toy could have had infinite possibilities but it's only been a frustration (and occasionally a hard surface to write on top of). We should have known to stick with Leap Frog products. In five years they've never failed us and they have excellent support and customer service.

This education center is nice, but Barbie products seem to be cheaper made than they used to be. Also, this item said nothing about needing a memory cartridge or a game cartridge to be able to connect this to your tv. We discovered another flap under the front of the package & only then did it tell you that you needed these items to connect to your t.v.

My child got this toy for her birthday and cannot use it. The toy is suppose to come with a cartridge to play it on the tv and it doesn't. I can't even find a store that sells the cartridge. The website for Oregon Scientific doesn't even have the cartridges. Toys R Us will not take this toy back, even though there exchange policy is to exchange it for something else in the store. They were even familiar with the cartridge mishap. I am very disappointed.

I too bought this toy for my 4 year old barbie mad daughter at Christmas. I looked around for the extra books as promised and today I sourced a supplier in the UK. They are 'Clove Technology' (on 08707 280038) and they have one further book and cartridge available for £12.90 with £2.00 post and packing.The makers themselves promise a further two books in the near future and then this company will sell them. I do hope this helps anyone who like me was beginning to think this toy may have been a bad mistake!

I received one of these laptops for my child. I would like to find more books and memory cards for the laptop so that they can get more out of it but I can't find any. I've even tried Toys R Us but I'm told they don't have any. Is there more activity books available and if so where can I get them? I thought that if these stores stock this item they should have other items available to go with it. What is the point of having other features for the laptop if they can't be found in the stores. My kids are beginning to lose interest in the laptop because they have done about all they can with it.

Our 6 year old got this item for her birthday. What a disappointment it has been. It did not come with a cartridge to accompany the Barbietown book. Cartridges are sold seperately (according to the box and instructions) but we have yet to find a store that carries them; even the store that sells the B Creative Education Center! She hasn't been able to play it even once which is sad for a little girl that absolutely adores anything Barbie. Don't waste your money on this item. Stick to the dolls and accessories.

This toy sucks big time. I bought this toy at Toys-r-us for my daughter for christmas 2004 it is now April 01, 2005 and i can not find a cartridge to go with this product. Neither Barbie,Toys-r-us or Oregon have a cartridge. Just a waste of money..

This is a very fun and exciting toy, but like most toys it has its flaws. My daughter got one for christmas and I didn't think it worked properly so I took it back and got another one. This one seems to be the same way so I am assuming that is how they all are. It isn't overly sensitive and sometimes won't respond to my daughter touching the page. And you do have to have patience for Barbie to finish talking before trying to touch the page to give your answer, but other than that so far my daughter (who is 4) loves it. Especially when I hook it up to the TV.

Santa brought this item for my 5 year old for Christmas. We had a hard time getting it to work even after following the assembly directions closely. After it finally worked, it only worked for about 10 minutes then it stopped. It did not work again after that, so we returned the item. Don't buy it. It's a waste of money.
