4.0 out of 5 stars The BEST choice for two little artists!
Our girls are 2 and 3 yrs old and we just LOVE this easel. It is super sturdy, was a breeze to put together (in under 10 minutes and with no tools) and isn't as enormous as the Little Tikes model sold here. The BEST part is that a really functional clip (can hold one paper at a time or a whole pad securely) is located on both sides, so if both of my girls want to paint...

3.0 out of 5 stars Chalkboard a dud
This is a sturdy easel, but there are flaws.
1. The chalkboard on mine did not work. Literally, chalk did not write on it and I had to send away for a replacement board. That was free, yet is took 6 weeks since it came from Hong Kong.
2. The clip that holds pads of paper is not adjustable, therefore just one piece of paper does not stay in. In fact, I...

The BEST part is that a really functional clip (can hold one paper at a time or a whole pad securely) is located on both sides, so if both of my girls want to paint at the same time (which usually is the case) they can. The other models only have a clip on one side, which is alright if you only have one child, but this works great for our girls. A+++!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!, March 1, 2004

My children (2&3) love this toy. I like that it has clips on both sides so they can both draw on paper at the same time. My 2yr old son is very rough on toys and anything that stands up to him is great. We've had no problems at all with this easel, even when he climbs on and over the side supports. VERY easy to assemble and folds for easy storage if needed. Make sure you buy the correct kind of chalk for chalkboard, the kind we bought scratches it. The recommendation is on the box.

Definitely a great buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves this!, November 6, 2003

This review is from: Crayola Double Easel (Toy)
I bought this for my son after he had been drawing on the walls forever : ( He 19 months old and loves to color, so he was so excited when he saw it. When I ask him if he wants to color, he runs to his room to color on the easel. And he knows to put the crayons and chalk back in the little boxes. Also, it was so easy to put it together. Its pretty much put together for you and you just attach the drawing boards and little containers. I was a little scared it was too tall for him since it says its intended for 3 years+ on the box but it suits him just fine. A great purchase!

I bought this easel for my 19mo daughter for Christmas and it was a hit! This is her favorite present by far! So far she has only used the chalkboard side and she loves drawing on it!! It is the perfect height yet it will be big enough for years to come also. It is also VERY sturdy and durable; we have had no problems with her pulling and pushing on it. The chalkboard and dry erase are not the cheaply made kind you may find on other easels but it is the true boards. I would however recomend you buy a better eraser the one included isn't the best, other than that I have had NO problems. HIGHLY RECOMEND!!!

I love this easel! I posted a previous review complaining that the trays constantly crashed to the floor. However, today I realized that the trays snap on if you press them down the correct way. We have had this toy for almost 3 months and I just figured this out. Someone else was complaining of the same problem, but I hope that does not stop anyone from buying this easel. I love everything about it now. Sorry about the previously bad review.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only choice if you have more then one child!, November 17, 2003

This is the best easel out there if you plan to have more than one child use it. The best selling point is both sides have a clip to hold an easel pad...most easels just have one. So both kids can color or paint at the same time. The the additional plus of a chalk board and a marker board make it the only "art center" you need. No need to buy a separate chalk board or anything. It's all in one and my kids love it! Good storage space and very sturdy as well. I highly recommend it.

My 2 yr old daughter loves this easel. We really researched them all on the market to get one that would last. This one is sturdy. I like that there are clips to hold paper on both sides so 2 kids can color at the same time. Another positive is the double dishes on each side instead of a small ledge to "hold" the chalk. I bought an extra eraser (one for each side)It doesn't wipe it completely clean, but I don't think most do. So I give her a damp cloth to keep in her dish also. Make sure you use the Crayola white board markers for the dry erase board.

4.0 out of 5 stars so good, but not magnetic, December 29, 2003

My anxious 18 month old was very pleased that this snapped together without tools in a matter of minutes! The age recommendation says 3 and up, but it doesn't have pinch points or sharp edges. It is a solid easel, not easy to tip over like the others. The only drawback is that neither of the boards are magnetic, and I would have liked to see that.

We purchased this easel for our twins a year ago. They enjoy painting and drawing. We found it was the perfect solution. We didn't have to buy two. They each have a side they can work on. It's very durable and easy to assemble.

It's great for the price. Well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Easel you've been looking for!, March 30, 2004

My daughter is 3 and loves to use her easel. This was our 2nd easel, the first one (a different brand) was cheap and poorly designed, the clips broke on the first use and because of a bar running along the floor, it was not easy for her to stand close to it without getting back ache. Not so with this one...because of it's clever design my daughter can stand right up against it. The clips are sturdy and work well, the blackboad wipes clean easily, the little storage boxes make cleanup a breeze. In addition when she is not using it to make art, she crawls under it with her 1 year old sister. Assembly is very easy and can be done in less than 10 minutes. Please note, however, no paper, pens or chalk are supplied.
