WHERE IS JASMINE, October 13, 2004

My 4 year old daughter loves this toy. I have to admit I am quite amused by the whole arrangement. It's a great toy, but where are the princesses? I have searched high and low and finally I have four, but no Jasmine. I can't believe Fisher Price has made these assessories impossible to find. I was annoyed at first because it only comes with one which meant I had to go store to store looking for all these pieces which means more money. I searched Fisher Price's web-site and they don't even allow you to purchase it off their page. And I guess I'm still looking for Jasmine because she is the only ethnic looking one and my daughter identifies with her the most. What's up with that? Where is Jasmine?

Fun toy but online order was misleading, November 20, 2004

We celebrated Christmas in November as my son is leaving for Iraq next week. I ordered the Disney Princess Spin N' Dance Ballet Studio for his 4-year-old twin daughters--my only grandchildren--who adore both Disney princesses and ballet. After reading all the reviews, I understood that I needed to buy the extra princesses and was willing to do so. I was surprised, initially, that some reviewers complained of difficulty finding the extra princesses since a link was provided that said "See accessories for this item." It pointed to the Disney Princess Figure Giftpack, which I promptly purchased. It wasn't until the girls tore open the individual boxes containing the extra figures that it became clear that these figures were not compatible with the Ballet Studio--they were the same size but lacked the necessary magnetic bottom. The girls very disappointed, as was I, especially since the incompatible figures could not be returned since I hadn't anticipated needing to protect the packaging.
It isn't enough to warn potential buyers that they need to buy the additional figures separately--they need to be pointed to the right link to make the purchase or else this toy should not be offered.
That said, the girls were not disappointed with the Ballet Studio itself in that it makes an excellent animated music box. I got them the Dream Dazzlers 48 Piece Glamour Dress-Up Trunk which contained numerous princess outifts that doubled as ballerina outfits. We had dancing ballerinas all last night and most of today. They were genuinely delighted, and it seems like they will enjoy this combination of toys for months to come. Of course, now I have to hunt up the extra princesses. Sigh.

If you bought this toy in 2004 and RUSHED out to get the extra dolls, you are generally happy with it, as you will see in the reviews below. But if you bought it post 2005, when the extra dolls were no longer available (although the ballet studio is still in stores) you'll have either 1) have a very lonely Cinderlla twilling around the floor, or 2) a very angry Mommy or Daddy who need to shell out (...)these now "rare" "collectors item.
