The plastic quality is so-so. It fits the lens snugly. I got it at a really low price, so I'm not going to be picky about the quality and feel of the plastic, but It gets the job done.

It's just over 1/8th the cost of the Canon version, fits just as well, and provides the same amount of light blockage. Pretty much a no-brainer if you are in the market for this type of lens hood.

I figured like the other reviewer its just a cheap piece of plastic. I first got it and was some what happy. It snapped into place nicely but was so thin it would offer no protection if that is what you were looking for. The third time putting this on my camera one of the clips that holds it into place snapped and now it falls off and is useless. I didn't expect this to be able to handle damage but I also didn't expect it to fall apart just by putting it on the lens. Stay away and pay a couple bucks more for one of the ones with more stable construction.
