The wheel was easy to assemble. It's made out of cheap stuff, but if you're careful, it goes together easily. I was able to tighten the adjustment knob enough to keep it at the angle I wanted. So far, the motor is quiet. I used a 50-watt CFL flood light bulb, and it shines through to the tree nicely. Doesn't produce deep color, but I've never seen one of these lights that does.

I was given an Old Pom Pom tree, I got this light and was disappointed that the color wasnt darker more vivid when it lights the tree. it has to be angled just so and is top heavy so makes it hard to hold angle. I think you could use a spot light with colored bulb and get much better effect, altough the color wouldn't change, Color would light up the tree better.

Not good,

Picture viewed on website is a cartoon depiction. No where near reality. Color hue is weak and difficult to notice the changes. There are only 2 different models of color wheels available to purchase. Both models lack the vibrant color that I remember as a kid, intently watching the aluminum trees cycle through the color changes. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that produces a product as good as the ones in the 60's?
