The same Goya 7 oz. package is available at [...] for $2.19. Pimientos piquillo. Imagine... a sweet, slightly piquant red pepper unlike anything you've tasted before... It's a Piquillo Pepper, only from the Ebro River Valley, in Northern Spain. There, in a centuries-old tradition, Piquillos are hand-picked and slow-roasted over open wood fires. Along the way, they acquire a flavor so complex, so rich and teasingly spicy-sweet, that they have become the most sought-after sweet red pepper in the culinary world.

One of my favorite foods in Spain is the wood-fire roasted Piquillo
pepper. These brilliant red peppers have a sweet, tangy flavor with
a touch of smokiness and a bit of spice. And the texture is amazingly
firm yet tender, allowing you to enjoy each bite.

Grilling a Piquillo pepper adds an extra dimension of smoky flavor to
the pepper's delicate, thin, sweet flesh. More slender and cone-shaped
than a bell pepper, the piquillo's shape is the origin of its name, which
means "little beak." That cone is a great place to put stuffing's,
including chopped hard-boiled egg, small pasta or seasoned rice. Serve
at room temperature by themselves, or stuff with tuna or cheese and heat
in the oven. They make a beautiful accent to paella as well. There are
literally hundreds of recipes calling for piquillo peppers, a unique
and wonderful flavor from Spain.
