My children rode this for several years starting at 1 1\2 it is very easy to steer. We had the barbie jeep and only my daughter could ride that one with her brother strapped beside her (which was fun but he wanted to ride too). So I would but the bike on low speed and turn the bikes handle bars to one side. That way he could go around and around in a big circle until he learned to steer good which was a little before his 2nd birthday. We had this though several moves and it was kept outside alot of the time so I am looking to buy another. With constent shed\garage coverage when not in use I belive this would have lasted several more years! Also I never obeyed the weight limit I would ride on it with my son when he was younger (im about 130 lbs and he was 25...so still over the reccomended weight limit) it never broke because of that, just drove a little slower at times.

I was going to buy this for my nephew when I read the very positive reviews on Amazon but when I looked up the product on the internet I found this recall notice. I still might buy it but I want to do more research:
CPSC, Fisher-Price Announce Recall of Children's Riding Vehicles In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Fisher-Price is recalling about 218,000 battery-powered Power Wheels? Harley-Davidson? motorcycles for repair. The vehicles' foot pedals, which activate the ride-ons, can stick in the "on" position. Children can be injured when the motorcycle ride-ons fail to stop and strike other objects. Fisher-Price has received nine reports of the foot pedal on these vehicles sticking. One 3-year-old boy suffered cuts and bruises when his ride-on ran into a home. The recalled Power Wheels Harley-Davidson ride-ons have model numbers 74290, 74293 (with a red body) and 74298 (with a black body). A "Power Wheels by Fisher-Price" logo is located on the left side of the seat on the product, and the model number is located on a label in the battery compartment. Only model numbers 74290, 74293 and 74298 are being recalled. These battery-powered ride-ons are intended for children 3 and older, and the vehicles' speed is 2.5 or 5 mph. Toy, mass merchandise and discount stores, and Harley-Davidson dealerships sold the motorcycle ride-ons nationwide from September 1999 through August 2000 for about $190 for the red vehicle and $700 for the black vehicle.

My son got one of these from a garage sale (he had gotten a new car one, but couldn't steer it at age 2). However, the bigger harley...he could steer. It was frustrating when he drove the truck because he didnt understand the concept of the steering wheel (the following summer when he was 3 he mastered that). However, he LOVED the Harley. We disconnected the high speed and it was still powerfull enough to go on the grass (and even up the ramp we built). This summer (age 3) we connected the high speed and it has renewed his interest in this toy. He LOVES it.
If you are going to spend the money on a new power wheels (although I still think garage sales are the best place to get these toys), I would highly recommend this over one of the cars/trucks (especially for younger kids).

This one is by far the one to get. Because it only has one wheel in the front it is easier to use. We have the Hummer and the Harley and the Harley is rode more often. The Hummer is hard for the little ones to steer. The Harley is so easy that my 20 month old can drive it easily. It is also very durable.

My 3 year old loved this motorcycle before he had an accident on it. My son had alot of fun riding around the park on it and in our back yard until he was riding around the patio into the grass and it flipped over on him breaking his right elbow,he does not ride this anymore even though he had a great time on it while it lasted.

We live in a very hilly neighborhood and our kids ride them all over the yard. They have great steering capabilities and powerful engine.

My son got this motorcycle for Christmas when he was 2. He loves it. He has no problems steering the bike. He has a powered quad and would rather ride the Harley. Well worth the money!

Despite the initial difficulty in finally locating and effectuating delivery of this wonderful mini-motorcycle for kids, it was worth all the effort, time and energy expended. It was purchased for my 3-year old granddaughter's birthday, and she went completely gah-gah over it - got right on it, and rode like an expert. I myself have a Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500 motorcycle and she just loves it so - so this Power Wheels was just the ticket for her. Power Wheels did a great job - assembly wasn't too difficult (a wee bit overwhelming at first) - it rides and works wonderfully - definitely a phenomenal present for any girl or boy. I recommend it without reservation.
